Atem from yugioh and Aten a Egyptian god the names are very similar do you think they based the pharaoh in yugioh off of Aten since the names are so close.

ACA Profile - Mysti Felina
Name: Mysti Felina Age: 22 Sex: Female Race: Human with Kitty Genetic Splicing Personality: Shy but fun when you get to know her; loves shopping Biography: Mysti moved in from the big city. She was genetically spliced in an accident when she was walking by a science building during college. Some careless janitor knocked a vial of cat DNA out of the window and the vial broke on her head causing the potent contents to seep into the wound. As a result, she ended up with cat ears and tail that pop up when she is in danger and has great agility and gymnastic capabilities. She owns a white kitten named Snowball and a pair of Husky puppies named Shadow and Seely. Mysti Felina ended up with a small fortune, due to the accident. A lawsuit resulted for all the medical expenses that were incurred for testing, therapy, and such. She doesn't regret the accident though, 'cuz it's allowed her to see things through the eyes of her animal friends. Mysti has a part-time job and has quite an extravagant wardrobe. She's hoping to find a nice place to settle down and make good friends. Click Here to visit my newly renovated apartment!!! Click Here to make YOUR Character and join the Fun!!!

to be fair the line between pharaoh and god was a blurry one. Actually, all pharo's became gods upon death, so assuming this Aten person was a "god" he was probably a pharo first.
We also have to account for the fact that Sora probably inadvertently misspelled "Aten", because there is a sun god named "Aton" which is occasionally spelled as "Aten".
Still, in both cases, Aten is probably referring to Akhenaton, who ruled from 1353-36 BCE.
Akhenaton most likely did inspire Yugi's father, or at least his name, and in turn inspired the name "Atem" for Yugi, which would all be references to pharo's, not "gods".
