Atem from yugioh and Aten a Egyptian god the names are very similar do you think they based the pharaoh in yugioh off of Aten since the names are so close.

Aten is a Egyptian god not a pharaoh so he was just worshiped.

Actually, all pharo's became gods upon death, so assuming this Aten person was a "god" he was probably a pharo first.

We also have to account for the fact that Sora probably inadvertently misspelled "Aten", because there is a sun god named "Aton" which is occasionally spelled as "Aten".

Still, in both cases, Aten is probably referring to Akhenaton, who ruled from 1353-36 BCE.

Akhenaton most likely did inspire Yugi's father, or at least his name, and in turn inspired the name "Atem" for Yugi, which would all be references to pharo's, not "gods".
