Don't think we've done this yet, and every forum worth it's salt must undertake this journey into adult humor slapped into kid's shows. Some minor rules I have though.

1. No TS. We already have topics for them, so it would be redundant to post them here.
2. NO SIMPSONS/ADULT SWIM/FAMILY GUY. 99% of the time, someone doesn't quite get the idea and mentions Bart saying "Bastard". Doesn't count, not a kids show.
3. No anime unless it's a 4Kids dub or you know Japanese culture SO well that you can tell us that whatever you just saw was beyond the normal limits for their kids programming.

Videos encouraged, but not required.

1. The final "climax" (pun very well intended) scene of "The Ultimate Thrill" from "Batman: TAS"

Yup. Riding a giant phallic symbol, taking her clothes off and orgasming. Amazingly, this just flew by the censors.

2. "Rocko's Modern Life" is pretty much a goldmine for this stuff. They even did an episode where his neighbor tried to seduce him (which was banned by Nick, though returned on it's Nicktoons TV run). This was evidently cut from the first airing of "Road Rash" too. They also changed the dialog in one scene from "johnson rods" to "curtain rods" for all further airings. I know this cause I saw the first airing and remember that.

And yet, I have no idea what I ate for dinner last Friday.

At first, I thought it was cause that horse screams "POTENTIALLY OFFENSIVE ASIAN STEROTYPE" but than I got the whole sexual reference.

3. Not so much sexual, just terribly bad and frightening for a kids show. This is the whole "The Mysterious Stranger" thing from "The Adventures of Mark Twain". They apparently cut this from American broadcasts cause it's too disturbing. It's basically Satan...and scares the shit out of people.

I just imagine a bunch of kids watching this in 1985 and just going "Mommy?" in the most meek of all voices.

Yeah, Dini and Timm had bozzak for sure. I've gotta say she was probably having an orgasm. What's also awesome is we can talk about this here. Fuck you Somedouche.

Maybe not as over the top, but gotta love the opening of Holiday Knights in which Harley and Ivy are acting pretty playful in the hotel room they're staying that only has one bed. The Harley and Ivy comic book which follows the same canon also supplements this by showing that they do physically sleep together. XD

Also pretty overt reference happy was Girls Night Out.

At 5:000: Supergirl to Batgirl after riding on her and half groping her - "How much silicate do you have?" Batgirl - "Enough to cover a house." :lmao: Earlier in the episode, Batgirl literally rides Supergirl around like a horse.

Ivy also mentions having kissed and made up with Livewire a few minutes earlier which has lead other fans to believe something freaky went on. Harley also seems pretty fucking jealous of Livewire during the whole episode, a plot was again recreated to femslashy win in the second season of Gotham Girls. Harley also seemed pretty excited to show Ivy the tiny dress what she wanted to wear when they were going out, to which Ivy makes a nice facial expression and touches her cheek. lol

Of course this is all capped off by the end of the episode in which Batgirl/Supergirl are in bathrobes and towels having obviously taken some kind of celebration shower/bath together. XD

In Johnny Test there was an episode where the hunky guy was forced to leave his shirt off for the nerdy girls so they could watch him work with them off ... it wasn't really bad, but they way it was done was a little weird ... and at one point he had a parka on but no shirt underneath and he like flashed :lmao:

In addition to Susan & Mary crushing on Gil next door, Johnny Test has quite a few subtly inappropriate moments. A few that I can think of off the top of my head:
  • Where Johnny became a giant, outgrowing his clothes, but, as one of his twin sisters saying, "Thank goodness his underwear grew with him".
  • When his dad complains why he can't be like his sisters, he answers with "Well, first of all, I have a…"
  • The episode of "Johnny to the Center of the Earth" where Susan & Mary give Johnny a special salt that turns him into a hot chick† shortly before turning him into an ugly one--which shows up on the thumbnail on this embed--as seen in the opening theme at forty-three seconds into this clip:

I was fortunate enough to find that clip on youTube, as the show is virtually non-existent on any download source, let alone a streaming site  .

† This presumably lead to a lot of Johnny Test "tranny jokes" (and possibly even "tranny pr0n") upon my google searches on the show.

In the episode 'Quest of the Skeleton Warrior' of the 80s series Dungeons & Dragons, the characters Bobby and Diana stare into a magic mirror, it's kinda gross, but it turns her old...... and her top is half open and we see one of her hagged breasts!

Hey, the Mario show did something...kinda controversial.

Posted Image

That doesn't at all scream "censored/modified" swastika now does it?

Makes sense though, as they were parodying Indiana Jones at the time, and well, who does Indy take on? Nazis. It's actually quite clever, but I still can't think someone was bothered by it.

And kids probably didn't get the reference/joke.

Yeah, I'd say so. I also remember some pervy joke from Tiny Toons as a kid. Something along the lines of Babs Bunny asking Buster Bunny if he would prefer her naked. XD

^ I never stared at cartoon boobs so much in my life. :lmao: Well, untill Fudonna showed up. That kinda killed the atmosphere. xD There's probably a reason why furry fans love this show so much. I also think this was another Bruce Timm show like Batman: The Animated Series.

Hey, this scene grabbed my attention too when I first saw it. I don't remember was it this year or year earlier when they aired this episode here in Russia. I was really surprised when I found out it wasn't the original Batman but The New Adventures which graphically have a more kids-oriented look.

When anyone mentions 'inappropriate' and cartoon in the same sentence, I immediately think of only one show - Ren & Stimpy. for at least it's first two seasons (which I was lucky enough to see video tapes of from their original Nickelodeon airings -uncut), was possibly the most subversive program on the air. If you look past the obvious scatological humor on the surface of Ren and Stimpy, there was some fairly heavy stuff going on, not the least of which was the S&M relationship they were involved in. Ahh, so much that was inappropriate, and so little time to put them all here....

Instead I'll just post a few images that are a mere taste of it...

I was trying desperately to find an image of Powdered Toast Man burning the Bill of Rights and The Constitution when he becoming president after unsnagging the real president's nads from his zipper (with horrifyingly painful results!) - no luck tho... :p

There's two versions of "Big House Blues" (and "Svën Höek" and "Dog Show" as well). A TV edit, and an uncensored full blown directors cut. Both made it onto the DVD, as I'm sure by 2004, most of the fans were probably old enough to understand them, and no one was worried about offending the kids.

I still haven't seen the full blown "Svën Höek" or "Dog Show" yet, but I did see the original "Big House Blues" at a animation festival. It includes the whole Ren kissing Stimpy bit, which I guess was cut for some kinda crazy overreacting homophobia.

If it made it onto the DVD, I can probably cap these.

How the fuck #1 made it past anyone is mindboggling.

Don't know if this counts as inappropriate (i.e., too subtle), but I just fished this moment of Justice League Unlimited greatness immortalized in an animated GIF from my PhotoBucket xD :

I remember that episode.

The DC shows are always pushing as far as things like that go. Part of me think that they really aren't amied at young kids, so much as they are the teenage crowd

Batman and Superman definitely was. I remember this, because I watched the premier of Batman on Fox kids block back in 93'. Same year that A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders came out. XD

Justice League though I think was probably aimed at the older crowd, which made some sense because the fans of the earlier shows were older by then. It never caught on with me that much though, probably just because it lacked the darkness, noir, and a more interesting villains gallery of Batman.

I think much of the new animated Superhero stuff they're doing now is for the older set, but since they still kinda rely on kids for some sales, they can't go full on swears+violence. But it's not like Superman needs to rip Luthor's arms off to make a good movie.

Timm's working on the "Superman/Batman: Public Enemy" (or so I've heard he was) which will be out post Green Lantern.

On-Topic: This is from yesterday's "The Replacements" (people who watch this show: Trilly and someone else). Basically, there was some election coming up and Dick Daring was on the ballot, so he told the crowd that when you go in there on election day, remember to "punch Dick".

You know what he meant, but you couldn't help thinking that he just told everyone to hit people in the crotch.

It's not that bad...until you get to that joke at 7:00. Pretty sure any joke involving genitalia isn't appropriate for kids. However, my mom found it to be quite hilarious, and didn't look at me like I was watching filth either.

Also, one of the kids I teach in Sunday School kinda looks like that girl. It's weird that when I look at her, I think of a minor character in a little known mid-90s Hannah-Barbara cartoon show.
