God bless the YouTube! I'm gonna post here some cult classic Soviet cartoons.
The first one is ''Film, film, film'' with English subs directly from Souzmultfilm.
Enjoy!

I've got quite a bit of vintage Soviet toons on VHS. Stuff like "Nu Pogodi" and "Chiburaska". These things happen when you have Russian parents. I still kinda regret not buying that "Chiburaska" book written in Japanese when I saw it.

That, and my "Soviet Propaganda" cartoon DVD set which was bought from amazon when they messed up and sold it for $15. Usual price? $90.

That's a lot of money. A lot of NBC's Money.

Hmm, interesting. And, yeah, Soviet cartoons are usually quite cheap on amazon which is too good to be true.

OK, this one is quite popular too despite of its age. Might be interesting to those who enjoys watching hockey.
Any Canadians here? :roflmao:

By the looks of what I saw: Soviet animation isn't so bad, perhaps one of the most unique brand of animation in the 20th century produced in Russia. It was done in a less "capitalist" manner (the Soviet Union was obviously communist) than how a cartoon is produced for Disney, Warner Bros., or any media corporation standards. I'm saying this is fun to look at and good artistic touch, other than some (but not the ones shown here) carried political propaganda overtones.

Speaking of Canada (actually I love hockey and gonna watch this year's stanley cup), you oughta check out FilmCanada's own state finance-backed cartoon shows or movies: Yes, the animation is done under private media companies (Nelvana is based in Canada) but has the support of the Canadian Ministry of Culture.
