![]() I just check some info on Transformer and stumble this news, TF the animated 2008. http://tformers.com/TF-Animated-A-2008-Ser.../7417/news.html Actually I was hoping the looks of TF the same as the 80's before. The TF: G1 style but it turn out to be too Cartoonish and curvy...no wonder they called "more than meets the eye" But even so, I still gonna watch to see how the story goes. just maybe this won't be bad as the movie direct by Micheal Bay... |

I gave up on Transformers after the first season of Beast Machines. I agree they should definitely go back to the G1 art style, but Hasbro is a corporate toy company so you can't really expect them to do anything other than do what they think will make money. |

I'm surprised they don't make a limited run of figures from the collector/nostalgia market. |

They do. If you go to certain stores they have the 80's toys reissued. I don't buy them though because they are expensive as fuck. I don't think they are even die-cast metal anymore even. Obviously they think Transfomrers nerds would pay any price for them. They are probably correct for some of those nut-cases. lol |

Except J-syxx (not a nerd!) and few TF fans I know in TS forums won't dare buy a cheap plastic toy for $30 doomed to break or would make a devoted TS fan lose interest in the toon. :roflmao: The new animated series isn't not like the 1980's classic non-computerized design. AH...the good ol' days of pre-"Toy Story" animation. Don't expect Frank Welker to cast voices of any characters. His credits appeared in over 500 cartoon shows from "Thundercats", "The real ghostbusters" to "tiny toon adventures". I heard he's gonna get a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, just like Mel Blanc and Daws Butler, and Jim Backus of "Mr. Magoo" and Nancy Carlwright for her voice of Bart Simpson. Voice actors are the forgotten members of the movie and TV industry, but I feel Transformers needs him back! |

Ummm, I'm a huge nerd. I just don't want to spend my money on unfairly over-priced plastic. Mike I kinda get the impression you try to agree with all my opinions to get on my good side. You don't have to do that. ![]() I don't mean to bash "trasnfans," but I spent several years in that fandom and I kinda burned out by all the goofieness of certain (but not all) fans, so I may sound harsher to them then I should. Frank Welker probably doesn't do the new shows because he's probably too expensive for them now, and most TS voice casts are Canadian only now I think. |

Hate all you want, I personally think this show is gonna rock for simply not being a dub of any JPN TF show. The one clip I saw looked pretty promising. I mean come on...it's made by the same dudes that did Teen Titans! There's no way it could suck! |

Who does? I have "Starting lineup" baseball figurines of 1980s & 90s ball players. Not every fan collects those unless they really love baseball and admired these players. I think overpriced plastic figurines featuring Roberto Alomar, Wade Boggs, Randy Johnson or Mark Langston are worth my money. I compared this with TF to made my point...and perhaps I'm much of a "nerd" but not in the level of Bill Gates. What? Of course not. You're one of the few I met in TS forums I seem to got in common with. Sorry I gave you an impression, though I don't agree on everything you or others' opinions are. For example, I won't stand discussing politics with a right-winger, though I find a few points I agree on...and doesn't indicate to get on their "good side". We agree on forum overmodding is stupid and our similar experiences with uptight mods., though I wonder if I might brought that on. I can tell. I used to go to chat rooms and forums about other cartoons I once was a huge fan of. But I made myself look like I stopped loving a certain toon...and back at WOOHP we had one guy who mocked TS and the fan base, "dood". You just told me Totally Spies and Transformers are now played by Canadians... and not a single American member (Andrea Baker still does Clover's voice?). As they say in our neighbor to the North: "yah, what's this aboot, eh?"

Teen Titans Season 1: Good. Solid. Fun. Season 2+: Quality....gone. Something got lost. As far as canadian VAs go, it's simple. Canadian VAs are cheaper. They also tend to be shittier. |

Well, I can understand paying high prices for the actual toys from the 80's in the original packaging. That's understandable, since those should be very rare and are the genuine article. However, when you just re-release something it's not original anymore and the price should be down. Especially, when you are so cheap you don't even use die-cast metal anymore. However, Hasbro probably knows the market-value for the original toys is high and is trying to take advantage of that demand, I just really disagree with the idea. They should be the same price as the other toys, it's just painted plastic after all. |

Gonna do a megalo bump here as opposed to a new topic. We're halfway into season 2 now. A lot of TF fans have deemed this show the new Beast Wars in terms of writing quality. I personally love it to pieces. It only took this show one episode (technically three) to completely pwn the entire Unicron Trilogy. It's like, each and every character is unique and has something you can like about them. Right now, my favorite autobot of the main group is Bulkhead. Jazz is pretty cool too. As far as the cons go, Blitzwing is the shit. I can't get enough of the crazy face. It finds humor in everything. Anyone else manage to see the show? |
