Yesterday in Britain, the long-anticipated "Harry Potter: and The Deathly Hallows" sold their first novels to a small group of avid fans whom waited in line for hours. The 7th (and final) chapter is an end of a very popular book series that has more children hooked into reading books (for a change). I find myself not the only "bookworm" in here...and I've got to read but not finished 6 HP books.

My Mom who loves to read books is herself a HP fan and she got to view all four (soon five) HP movies (the latest: "Harry Potter: and the Order of the Phoenix") and my bro will take his nephew to see the new movie before the theater he works in drops the film. My nephew who's age 7 started to read, but when he's older he gonna read Harry Potter books, starting from #1 "The Philosophers stone".

Anyone else into Harry Potter? Reply on it if you wanna read the new book and see the movie (but let's try not to give out spoilers...don't ruin it for all). :hmm:

My mom is, we went to Borders today so she could get her copy ^^

And very true, please don't give out spoilers! I'm not an HP fan, but I don't want others to worry about reading endings and major parts - the most you should do at this point is discuss about buying the book and enjoying reading

PS: I'll add no spoilers to the title

I don't really like reading so I probably won't get the book. I like watching the movies instead.

I seen it on my local news station: Long lines at the Barnes/Noble store in La Quinta...hundreds of HP maniacs dressed in wizard outfits. When their doors opened at 5AM, they poured in and got the county sheriff & security guards to regulate the crowd...only 30 HP #7 books were available (and each one costs $39-40!) :holyshit:

It's been quiet and nothing bad occurred, but they feared the kind of mayhem like the first iphones, Xbox360 or wiis came out...or when I saw people slept in front of Indio-Metro 8 (not the one my bro works at) before "spiderman3" premiered. My Mom has health ailments and she can wait til Oct. to buy a book for low prices at... Wal-mart.

Whoa!! and I thought $35 was bad... that's what they're selling them in most places, I believe

Here, in Kansas City, Borders was having them 40% off from $35, making them only $20-22, and on top of that, additional dollars were taken off for Borders card members - my mom paid like $18 for hers or so :)

Lucky for you and your Mom. :D Of course, the cost of everything is lower in the Midwest and Central states than the coasts. Whatever costs $40 in Cal. or N.Y. is $30 in Kansas City, but I recognize the wages are lower in numerical terms either. However, good to know you owe the first of thousands of copies of "HP: Deathly Gallows" in America...and that's what matters.

Yes, living in the Midwest is nice, we have such low prices compared to what you find on the Pacific, Atlantic, and Gulf coasts (like Florida, Texas, NY, and California  ) Especially since Missouri is such a beautiful state

Hey...600th post! (woohped down the chute to see Jerry...er J-syxx for a visit).

Today, my Mom got a copy of HP she ordered on Barnes&Noble.com and they delivered the book at her doorstep. Since she's in health problems, she can't drive and wait in the summer heat...and with a busy work schedule (plus babysitting my bro's son/nephew), to order it online is a big advantage. I think she paid $21.99 plus S&H and tax, thus she saved 40% off regular price ($35)...what a shopper!
