![]() Sub-Issue V.I, April 8,2013 Goodbye To A Friend By Kogvuron As you may have heard, Unibot, UDL Chief of the Band, is retiring from NationStates. When I head this news, it saddened me at first, because the game is losing one of its finest players and I am losing one of my finest friends. However, I realized that he was not really leaving us because we all have a little bit of his spirit inside of us. Uni is extremely intelligent, as is plain to anyone who has ever read one of his 17,000 word essays. He is witty and charming. He is loyal. He is brave. Unibot stood for what many spat upon. He was the defender of regions everywhere and the champion of all natives. And even though many opposed him, insulted him, and slandered him, Uni stood tall and firm on the path that he thought was right. And that is what I respected most about Unibot. So, as I reflect upon the career of this NationStates legend, I choose to focus on Unibot's spirit, not his departure. And so, I call on all of you to recognize that little piece of Unibot inside of you and act on it. Not in NationStates, but in the real world. Help out at your local homeless shelter. Give a friend a free hug. Stand up for the kid that is being picked on. Be the change you want to be and don't let anyone else push you off that path, no matter what they say. You can make the world a better place, no matter what anyone says. So, as I say goodbye to a dear friend, I also say hello to the Unibot inside myself and I hope that you do as well. Goodbye Uni, and thank you for teaching me so much over the past two years. Godspeed. |
