![]() Issue III, March 16,2013 Announcement: The TRR Media Corporation will be switching to publishing by article, rather than by issue. We will try to publish articles paired together, but not in large groups like before. The Isles of Liberty: Not so Libertarian In the early hours of Tuesday, March 5th, 2013, the 118 inhabitants of The Isles of Liberty were awoken by tsunami of epic proportion. The founder, Tunasai was to shut down the region and residents were given 24 hours to depart or face eviction. This decision came completely out of the blue as the region was in its healthiest state since its incarnation with 118 residents, record forum posting, in the midst of an election for a new Senate and President, and with a potential alliance with the United Defenders League. The founder Tunasai was quoted as saying: "My purpose here has been fulfilled. Why? The region has been perfected, its everything I wanted it to be. Diverse, strong, free, active. However, its future is not so bright. My fading from the region was inevitable, that I have accepted. But what I see is a slow decline. A slipping away" Tunasai, despite strong protests from the inhabitants, emptied the region of it's free, independent, and vibrant community. One former government member, Genesis Era, who has been left to found his own region "The World Directorate" with some of the other inhabitants of The Isles of Liberty. He stated: "He has his reasons and I'm not angry; only disappointed that he did not trust us to run the place in his absence. Disappointed that he did not consult us about the disbanding of the Isles before hand. Disappointed that the community I contributed to is now gone. Many of the other nations I know, both inside and beyond the Isles, share the same thoughts and turmoil I have, although some are more angry than others... The Isles was just as much ours as it was Tunasai's. We should have had a say in the decision." The reasons appear to be, according to Genesis Era, "wanting to have a change in his environment, being too stressed out over the running of the region as well as real-life events bothering him". Some of The Isles of Liberty have defended the decision to close down the region. Libertarian Washington, a former Government official of The Isles of Liberty announced: "Is it better to move on and create new goals while the region is still great, or to wait for the region to fall into shambles, allowing it to disappear with many inactive nations, who will not be able to pass on word of its existence?.... In the end, it is Tunasai's decision on what he does and either way, I will stand by him." Yet, The Rejected Realms Media Corps believe Tunasai has now founded a new region "Woodmere" where some of Tunasai's allies and co-founders have departed, bringing into question the intent and the real reason behind Tunasai’s actions. The largest off-proportion of the Citizens of The Isles of Liberty created a new utopia, free from the perceived tyranny of Tunasai, in the "Region of Liberty". The Empire of Ruescher the now founder of these exiles has condemned the actions of Tunasai, believing: "Because of one man's greed the whole region was destroyed. He claims the region was "perfect" which is far from the truth, nothing could be further from the truth actually, there was numerous loopholes in the laws/constitution, abuse of powers rampant, his friends in power breaking the law and him willing to do nothing about it. Truly the region was broken, and was about to be on the path of reform and repair, but he decided instead of losing his authority he would rather shut up shop. Already people are spreading apart and we've lost a lot of good friends sadly". The Region of Liberty has already banned Tunasai from the region and has engrained his actions in their new constitution with the clause "F*** You Tunasai", testament to the new region's traumatic formation. The Empire of Ruescher went further and believes Tunasai's actions were nothing more than a political ploy: "He was becoming increasingly abusive with his powers, banning nations (both on and off the forum) for example that offered opposition to him on the forum, using loopholes in the laws to benefit himself. The opposing political party to his own (the Isles of Liberty Imperial Party) had just won a majority in the Senate and would hence be able to pass whatever laws they would please to close those loopholes, and the Presidential election only the Isles of Liberty Imperial Party produced a candidate (the other from his own party was inactive) which means that the President would not veto power restrictions. It was actually the day before voting was to begin that Tunasai declared the region "perfect" amongst widespread discontent and decided he would close region rather than face change". As Tunasai was the Root Admin and Founder, The citizens and Nations of The Isles of Liberty could do very little to prevent Tunasai from following through with his destructive action and ending an active community. Faced with such charges of tyranny Tunasai has reacted angrily, believing that the region was an "empty shell" and that as no one was recruiting except himself the region would soon collapse. "This region was destined to die, at least now it died with a meaning." And certainly Tunasai has a case, with three regions emerging from the turmoil and players taking a real interest in their new homes to prevent a repeat of this, The Isles of Liberty certainly has a new legacy. Tunasai feared the region would die "without a whimper"-- now players are able to start afresh and a new. Tunasai stated: "It was never about politics or about my party, the GOP. In fact the GOP won gained two seats in the Senate prior to the region closing and the region had doubled by 60 nations. I never considered politics in the decision." We all take the risk that one day the founder or Delegate will take it upon himself to purge the region (unless you are in TRR of course), but are Tunasai's actions the actions of a tyrant? Or a founder who wanted The Isles of Liberty to have a lasting legacy, to be remembered in the eyes of its citizens and the wider world? These actions are extreme and only time will tell if Tunasai made the right decision, certainly closing down a region at its height of power will cause ripples and many in the region who poured hours of time into creating the community are rightly upset. Either way, we at TRR Media Corps wish the three new regions the best of luck in the future. Dueling Interviews: Tim Stark and Grimmjow Jeagerjaques The Rejected Realms Media Corporation recently held interviews with Tim Stark and Grimmjow Jeagerjaques. First, our interview with Tim. Kogvuron: Hello Tim and thank you for agreeing to an interview with the Rejected Times. Tim: No problem, happy to be here. Kogvuron: How did you start playing NationStates and when did you make your first nation? Tim: Ah, the infamous question. Well, I started Nationstates about 3 years ago. Mid-February 2010. I got recruited by a friend to help out with a regional project of his known as NWO. Basically, I was brought into NS for an R/D Operation. Kogvuron: What was the NWO? Tim: The NWO was an Invader Group, of sorts. We relied much more on infiltration tactics than conventional raiding. Join the region as a 'native'. Get to a high position. Start feeding paranoia. Watch the region collapse on itself. The usual infiltration style. We did do conventional Raiding, as well, but it wasn't the main focus. Kogvuron: How did you find you way to Grand Central? Tim: That's an interesting question. If I had to think of the specific reason, I don't think I could figure it out. Multitude of small reasons, I guess. NWO was closing down. I had a few contacts in Grand Central. It was invader. I thought I could fit in well there, so I showed up one day. It seems to have worked out. Kogvuron: What roles did you hold in Grand Central? Tim: Would you like a list? It's a fairly lengthy amount. Kogvuron: Sure Tim: Minister of Finance, who was basically in charge of maintaining the forum AiO. Speaker of the Senate. Minister of Culture. Minister of Foreign Affairs. Commander of the Grand Regiment, which would be the regional army. Minister of Logistics, which was a records keeper of sorts. World Assembly Delegate. Premier, which was during the time when we had a Dual-Executive. Premier would be the Prime Minister, basically, while Delegate would be President. Forum Admin, on both the old and the new forum. I believe that's all the Major Roles. When Nordic Arbor Arbor and I were running Grand Central, we ended up basically sharing most of the Executive Government's responsibilities so I may have missed a few. Kogvuron: Did you mean Nordic Arbor? Tim: Yes I did, apologies. Kogvuron: No worries. Did you leave Grand Central, and if so, when and why? Tim: I guess I started drawing attention away from Grand Central in April of 2012, or so. Our founder had IRL passed away about a year before, those of us who were left couldn't hold the region up, and any Refound plan that we made didn't happen. I've never really left, and I still hold Admin on the forum that 94 Block did not destroy. I do post around, every once in a while, but the region is basically a zombie these days. Kogvuron: Regarding the forum destruction, what are your thoughts on the actions that took place? Are you angry about it? Confused? Tim: The actions that took place were, in my opinion, unacceptable. I don't care what kind of thoughts were happening in 94 Block's head, at the time. Forum Destruction is never acceptable. And no matter how much bullshit Halcones wishes to throw to try to counter it, the action comitted was forum destruction. Kogvuron: How much information was lost in the attacks? Tim: I managed to recover the old forum, through a support ticket, though. So, at least that was a relief. I'm not sure what we would have done if we had lost that forum too. It's funny, because 94 Block destroyed the forums right as they were becoming active again.. and his reasoning was "To Promote Activity in the Region Again". Oh well. The past is the past. We lost quite a few months of Forum History, with the Destruction of the newer forum. 94 Block was Root Admin on that one, so there was nothing I could do to recover it from permanent destruction. The region should have expected something like this, honestly. With him, he would keep quitting on the region and then keep slinking back apologetically. This was bound to happen sooner or later. Kogvuron: Did you follow the COPS re-drafting that occurred following the attacks on Grand Central and Ravenstadt at the NationStates World Fair? Tim: Yes, I did indeed follow the COPS re-drafting that occured. Unfortunately, I was away at a Convention and was unable to contribute to the drafting. I'm fairly dissapointed that no actual treaty came out of the re-drafting. Kogvuron: Moving on to your time in TBR, why did you switch from raiding to defending the first time, and what made you switch again? Tim: The first time? That was purely for intel purposes. It's wonderful how much you can hear just by lurking on the UDL IRC channel for hours on end. The Merryman masking was quite useful too. When I took Delegate of Grand Central, and had nothing more to get from UDL, I admitted to Unibot that I was spying all along. Then there's the second, more recent, time. That one.. or I guess, this one...is most definitely a legitimate switch. TBR was becoming plagued by the infestation known as Halcones, and I really didn't want to be a part of it. So, at that time, I was only quitting TBR. Within a few weeks, I basically realized that most of my NS Friends were within organizations such as the UDL and the FRA, and I wanted to see UDL become more competent more than anything else in R/D really... So I tentatively joined the UDL to see if a legitimate attempt at Defending would work out. 4 months later, a UDL Lieutenant, as well as Chief of Orientation... I would say things worked out. Kogvuron: What specifically do you find more enjoyable in the UDL compared to in TBR? Tim: Firstly, the people. The UDL has a significantly better community than I ever encountered in TBR. I'm not saying that TBR doesn't have anyone good, because there's some great people.. But I just feel more at home in the UDL than I ever did in TBR. Secondly, it's much flexible "work hours". If I'm not staying up at Major, then I'm not staying up at Major. Liberations can be done any day of the week. Defenses can happen basically nightly. It's much nicer than the rigid "Only on these days of the week" schedule that TBR had when I was in it. And Thirdly, FriarTuck. Oh my god, I love you FriarTuck. If FriarTuck is out there, he should know that he is THE BEST. Kogvuron: Mall might be jealous. Thank you for your time Mr. Tim. Tim: No, Thank You. It was a pleasure. And to Mall. "UMADBRO? ;D And second, our interview with Grimmjow. Kogvuron: Welcome Grimmjow and thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by the Rejected Times. Grimmjow: Thank you for having me, Kogvuron. Kogvuron: First off, how and when did you join NationStates? Grimmjow: I started off playing NationStates in October of 2008 when me and my father came across the game through Google. My first nation was Waipahu, a nation that was eventually hacked a few months later by Lord Naumann, a member then of Unknown when I used it to make a Merc Region. After that point, I moved to Grand Central with in it's first few days, doing side projects. Kogvuron: What positions did you hold in Grand Central? Grimmjow: I've held Delegate, Head Judge, Foreign Affairs Director, and perhaps a few others since I was there a good while. I also served as an admin on two out of four of their forums. Kogvuron: How did you join The Black Riders and what drew you to raiding? Grimmjow: What drew me to raiding was the excitement of fighting the defenders, and planning out raids, and trying to do them without the defenders being able to prevent it, and then later fighting off the defenders from a region that was being held. I was taught how to raid in my early days after joining Grand Central by Halcones and Station Man whose raider name was St.Mason. How I joined The Black Riders. Halcones asked me to help lead it with Gest and one other person, who did not show up. Halcones remembered training me and St.Mason vouched for me. I was the second in command of TBR when it first started with Gest as the 1st Commander and Halcones as the Over Lord. I helped get TBR off its feet and train its first generation of recruits. Kogvuron: Why did you commit the forum destructions in Grand Central? Grimmjow: There are two reasons essentially that I took down the forum I made for them, and temporarily erased the previous forum, the one in which they are currently using. The first reason is because there was a lot of behind the scenes fighting between me, Tim and Nordic Arbor. So much so that it led to me leaving the region three times. I never had any problems before Tim arrived, and I could see through his selfish ways, also, I knew a bit about his past with NWO using psychological warfare to instigate infighting to tear down a region. I was also frustrated because Nordic Arbor would not stand against him with me because he wanted to take the neutral ground. That's the first reason. The second reason was to attempt a revival, but with a scare. The forum that I took down was one that was lightly used that I made for them, that was at the time, had gone a while with out a single post. So I took down the forum. The second part was to erase all the threads when I knew they could be retrieved again to scare people into activity when nothing else has worked thus far. Kogvuron: How did you perpetrate the attack? Grimmjow: At the time, I thought it was a moral thing to do. On the forum I created for them that was stagnant, I simply used the Root Admin power to shut down the site. As for the one that had the erasing scare, I also used my admin powers to delete the threads knowing they could be recovered. Kogvuron: Do you feel any guilt over your actions and do you now believe that you made a mistake? Grimmjow: I feel as if it was an error yes, and I do regret my actions. I was acting in a sense at the time that I thought was right, so I know that my feelings about that incident is mixed because of its outcome. I would never utterly destroy a forum that could not be recovered that had years of history on it. In fact I do know believe that any form of forum deletion is wrong, and that only things in policy violations should be edited out. Kogvuron: Has it been hard to find a new community in NationStates following the incident? Grimmjow: It has not been all that hard. Because I was never banned from Grand Central. I was banned without trial from Unknown immediately, and I have a temporary ban from Europeia that ends in the summer as a result of a trial from this incident. I my own small region that I run, and I feel at home in TRR. I do miss Unknown however. Kogvuron: What are your future plans on NationStates? Grimmjow: I plan to stay out of the raider defender world for a good while, that part of the game seems pretty pointless to me at the moment until it becomes more of a challenge, a challenge that the defenders can actually compete against. I plan to help build my region side region that I am the founder of, and to make TRR my home for the rest of the foreseeable future. Kogvuron: Thank you for your time Grimmjow. Grimmjow: No problem, any time Kog. Mcmasterdonia Resigns, Meanwhile The North Pacific Shifts to the Right, Researcher Says March 8th 2013, effective immediately, McMasterdonia - beloved delegate has stepped down from power in The North Pacific, cited family issues for the reason for his surprise announcement. He is the second Feeder delegate to resign this week, alongside Milograd of The South Pacific. The truly beloved delegate handled growing tensions and voter ambiguity over the ethical issues of the North Pacific Army with careful and effortless poise, which earned him the respect of his colleagues after his work on the North Pacific Army Act. The most recent polls before his departure suggested that he had a respectable 83.2% approval rating among The North Pacific's legislators. With such a sudden and dramatic political change in The North Pacific, our researchers have been musing over who could fill this power vacuum left behind by this popular leader. A subtle, but emerging new ideological direction for The North Pacific could be the key towards predicting The North Pacific's changing political winds which were blowing the weather vanes in a different direction lately - Mcmasterdonia proved to have a strong windbreaker, however. A study conducted by Unibot found voters are very sensitive to military alignment and the vast majority of voters in the 2012 November Special Election were unwilling to sacrifice more than two degrees of military alignment between their ideologically ideal candidate and others. Thus the popular military alignment of the day is important for prediction, although other factors such as leader perception and strategic voting do play a role in informing voter behavior. A Researcher with The Rejected Realms Times Polling Centre notes that since the 2012 November Special Election in The North Pacific (when Unibot conducted his study), the average military alignment of northern legislators has shifted from -2.37, where it sat comfortably alongside The South Pacific and The Rejected Realms, towards a more raider-leaning direction with 0.68. This is perhaps the first time ever that the historically defender-leaning North has found itself reflecting the moderate-right wing in NationStates. The subtle change in ideological tune may help explain The North Pacific's unexpected cold shoulder to its traditional allies, The South Pacific and Osiris with the failed "Concord" treaty. A graph below using data collected from the Gameplay Alignment Test suggests that this "new" North has drifted away from The South Pacific and Osiris, towards Balder (and Europeia) - an interesting foreign affairs development. ![]() Fig. 1. Current GCR Alignments. Data for The Pacific was not available. But think "top-right". Mallorea and Riva, Minister of World Assembly Affairs in The North Pacific, speculated that defenders have "abandoned the region once it became clear that they could not dominate the military" and that "now only the true patriots of TNP remain". However, there have been relatively few departures from The North Pacific by defenders as of late, one example could be Unibot, but his reasons for departure were cited as mounting frustration with the legal system and its lack of prosecutorial discretion after being accused of two counts of fraud, conspiracy and sedition by Attorney-General Punk Daddy - the case was eventually "dismissed without prejudice" as frivolous. Another theory is that The North Pacific is shifting right because of a flow of new, raider-leaning members trickling into The North Pacific. With new raider-leaning members including Europeia's Of the Free Socialist Territories, North East Somerset and Communist Quinntopia joining The North Pacific ... this theory is holding more credence. Currently whether there is going to be a special elections or not in The North Pacific is unclear. Some commentators have suggested that there is conflicting clauses on this subject in the Constitution and the Legal Code, thus the answer is trapped in legal ambiguity. Cormac Stark has directed a reference case to the attention of the High Court on the subject of the Delegate’s succession - no word yet on any verdict. Either way, experts suggest that Blue Wolf, former leader of the Lone Wolves United, would be poised to win a special election regardless of the court's verdict. Until Wednesday, all other confirmed candidates, minus a regular candidate (Romanoffia), were moderate raider candidates reflecting The North Pacific's new ideological trend. Our experts suggest that the defender and moderate defender demographics will be thoroughly apathetic and split over the one defender-leaning candidate, Eluvatar (who was already delegate recently and was removed from office because of inactivity) and the two raider-leaning candidates, Lord Byron and Jamie Anumia who will be competiting to present a credible plan to implement "moderate" raiding (or in the case of Anumia, centrism) that said shrinking (but still influential) demographics can swallow. Blue Wolf may not be preferentially the most preferable candidate, but our experts propose he will likely secure a plurality with ease. "Do we want to be neutral, or do we want an army?" Watershed Moment Occurs In The South Pacific In the Halls of The South Pacific, an emergency Great Council for constitutional and regional reform began with a hot topic: regional military stance. "If we want an army that is active, we need to pick a side," said Milograd, former South Pacifican Delegate to a throng of legislators on Tuesday in The South Pacific, "this is an unavoidable reality, and we shouldn't lie to ourselves about it". The argument quickly drew support from another South Pacific Heavyweight and former Delegate, Hileville, who argued "[The South Pacific has] to choose a side to lean towards to keep up activity". Former Delegate, Belschaft called for change as well, citing that "neutrality is an attractive, but ultimately false position; It's popular - in that it angers no one - but has nothing else going for it". He echoed others by suggesting that if The South Pacific were to choose a side, "he believe[ed] the best decision would be [defenderism], as well as being the one most in keeping with our established traditions and regional character". Alternatively, some have argued because The South Pacific's foreign affairs relations has lately been imbalanced towards raider powers (i.e., LWU, Euro, and TNI) with no defender organization or region being treatied with The South Pacific in over two years - such a defender stance may complicate matters. Eurosphere's Cerian Quilor (a non-citizen in The South Pacific) was quick to jump on proposals to move the South into defenderdom - later explaining that he had participated in the debate only because he "liked these arguments" and also because "helping Euro[peia]" posed a "side-benefit". Others expressed concerns, however, that the Great Council would soon become so consumed with the contentious military debate that other important issues would be forgotten. This is a new and unexpected development that TRR Times is following up on and we will try to keep you informed as the discussion evolves. ![]() "The Empire" Casts a Long Shadow The East Pacific Rejects SovCon, Accepts the TEP-UDL Treaty With no votes in favor, The East Pacific rejected ratification of The Sovereign Confederation Charter (It is worth noting that a ratification would not have meant anything due to SovCon's policy of invitations to prospective member regions). Provost Babiana called the 'SovCon' proposal, "degrading", going on to state that "[The East Pacific] would be handing a part of [its] decision-making and matters of security to people who couped [The East Pacific] in the past". Meanwhile, Magister Bachtendekuppen argued that "TEP [could have lost] a chunk of its sovereignty" by ratifying the ill-fated proposal; further stressing that the tone of the Charter seemed to be what 'SovCon' could do, instead of how The East Pacific's sovereignty was protected with membership. The tone of The East Pacific's legislature, the Magisterium, is reminiscent of real-life ASEAN politics - polite and civil with legislators "nudging" each other slightly without stepping on each other's toes. It could be a result of The East Pacific's communitarian nature, but nonetheless it was a radically different kind of discussion than found in most Game-Created Regions during what would otherwise be heated legislative debates. The East Pacific simultaneously passed a treaty with The United Defenders League entitled, "An Act of Friendship, Development and Mutual Respect for Sovereignty between The East Pacific and The United Defenders League". The treaty notes the shared history and values of The East Pacific and The United Defenders League - with The East Pacific having been a survivor of an occupation by The Empire. Bearing in mind this history, the preamble proposes that The East Pacific "sympathizes with The United Defenders League's noble cause of securing these freedoms abroad across NationStates". Meanwhile, The United Defenders League notes its appreciation of The East Pacific's maturity, stability and reasonableness that "makes them the most preferable of friends". The treaty is broken into two major parts. The first section declares the friendship for the parties and the limitations of the alliance, while The East Pacific and its army pledges not to invade any arbitrary non-warzone targets unless done as a declared emergency. The second section, however, is a non-permanent development program between The East Pacific and The United Defenders League wherein the latter pledges to help The East Pacific develop its military capacities. Regional commentary and responses to the treaty were overall positive with citizens noting its benefit to The East Pacific in raising activity and development with flexibility for both parties. Magister Heronlord stressed that relations between The East Pacific and The United Defenders League could pose an interesting opportunity with The East Pacific being largely a roleplay community and The United Defenders League being notably tenanted with defender-leaning roleplayers from across NationStates. Furthermore, TEP Veteran, Drakkagard gave a poignant defense of the treaty, arguing that "The Empire [showed] [The East Pacific] that neutrality [was] no shield; as one who suffered [through The Empire], [he would] rather see [The East Pacific's] army helping others rather than being a scourge in [NationStates]". The treaty was officially enacted with the rubber-stamping of the document by Todd McCloud, WA Delegate of The East Pacific. Overall it seems that the legacy of "The Empire" may have been a key factor in these legislative developments - with "The Empire" tarnishing the reputation of many of the members in SovCon, while laying the foundation down for The East Pacific to sympathise with an organization whose purpose is to "protect, free and restore" regions from similar occupations. One of these spies was no other than LWU founder, Evil Wolf! Evil Wolf, the current Khan of LWU, was actually sent into the region under the direction of TITO leadership and quickly rose to the top of the organization. Evil Wolf, who joined Lone Wolves United in 2005, instituted some controversial policies during his leadership such as working with Nazi region The Greater German Reich, possibly the most reviled region in NationStates at the present time. These practices quickly isolated LWU from other raiders such as The New Inquisition, causing LWU to slowly collapse into the inactive mass it is today. This is a major strike in the TITO-LWU war which has been ongoing since 2010, and surely will be a huge morale blow to the Wolves. 10000 Islands is over 3,000 nations, while LWU has not pulled off a single military operation in months. From all of us here at The Rejected Realms Media Corporation, we thank Evil Wolf for making NationStates a safer place. 8 Billion Sir Paul Citizens Groan as New Kervoskia Releases Another PNN Piece A huge rumble was heard from the depths of ex-nationlandia yesterday, when 8.111 billion citizens of former NPO Senator Sir Paul simultaneously groaned, following the release of the PNN article "TRR Band Takes NS By Storm." The noise, which was caused by the despair felt by the entire population of Sir Paul when they realized what a disaster the PNN had become, caused minor damage in other ex-nations, such as Mammothistan and even Francos Spain. "It's just do depressing," said Raul Sip, one of 8 billion citizens whose name is an anagram of Sir Paul. "How could he do that to us! To our network!" "It's really a shame," said Air Spul. "The network has collapsed from a respectable news organization into a tabloid." Crowds gathered outside of the government compound, begging Rembrandt Q. Einstein, the nation's leader and one of the few citizens not to be named after his country, to do something. "Save our paper!" screamed a mass of hundreds of protesters, as a huge throng of onlookers watched. However, the government says its hands our tied. "As we are stuck in ex-nationlandia, we cannot influence the network anymore. It is a shame to see our prize possession so dirtied, however, we will rise strong again!" said a government release. Some citizens have started petitions which they plan to send to New Kervoskia through the United Postal Service Rail subsidiary of the Senior Industrial Regents of Petrolium, Automotive, Uranium, and Lumber. "We already have 15,000 signatures!" yelled one citizen, who wished to remain anonymous. "We can save our network!" Reporting live, from Capital City, Sir Paul. Europeian Lead Fails to Recognize PopeHope, ERN calls foul Europeian officials are in an uproar after their latest raid in North Carolina ended in defeat. Former ADN Director PopeHope, using the nation PopeHope, snuck into the region, carefully evading Europeian security. There, she waited, until leading a liberation of the region at minor update. Europeian officials claim that PopeHope broke section 4.5 of the Europeian Pride Act, which states that, "Making Europeia look foolish is punishable by up to 9 months in the regional stocks." Some question how exactly Europeia plans to punish PopeHope, considering she is not a citizen of the region. But President Swakistek gave words of assurance today in a statement: "This traitor who has revealed the inexperience of military and the obvious need for reform and the failure of our intelligence agency to point out obvious defender sleepers and (...) shall be punished! Europeian pride is paramount!" In a separate speech, Swakistek cancelled embassies with the Alliance Defense Network, an organization that has been defunct for over 5 years. "Yesterday, the defender known as 'PopeHope' entered the region of North Carolina flying the Nasicournian flag in an attempt to dethrone the delegate we put in place to disturb the sovereignty of North Carolina. 'Pope Hope' was clearly trying to impersonate a Europeian Republican Navy member, although all evidence clearly points against this. Our lead is not at all at fault for not kicking 'PopeHope', as he had no way of knowing that 'PopeHope' was actually a defender, let alone the former director of the Alliance Defense Network, an organization that crumbled under the foot of Europeian might. The Europeian government condemns the actions taken as against the rules of war and a clear violation of Europeian sovereignty. We believe that sovereignty should be upheld to the most stringent standards and this is why we feel so strongly on this matter. We will consider this matter to be resolved when the ADN revives itself to apologize for it successful operation against our soldiers." Cerian Quilor, Europeian Consul to the ADN, quickly posted his support of the statement. "We must not allow sovereignty to be trampled. Let's go invade a region." North East Somerset, head of the Europeian Intelligence Agency, also posted something to the same point. PopeHope has yet to respond, but Europeian-ADN relations are not looking good for the near future. Reporting from Hypocrita, Europeia. Political Cartoons ![]() ![]() ![]() |
