The November FederalThe United Federation Newspaper Update http://s3.zetaboards.com/The_UF/index/November Elections Bring ChangeThe November Elections are finished, and with them, come signs that UNP is losing its grip on TUF. Although UNP kept the Presidency unopposed, with Indian Gangs coming in to replace ACKJVR and Blake Hanover becoming Vice President, the Senate was a different story. UNP kept its majority, however, they lost the supermajority they had held for the last term. Founder Neisse cam back to the region and finished with the second highest vote total, behind fellow independent Dante Tagiarello-Hanover. Dante, a former representative who came back from inactivity recently, had a strong campaign and did very strongly in the elections.Cabinet ShakeupThe election of Indian Gangs to the presidency brought major change to the cabinet, in which three of the four positions have experienced changes. Neisse has stayed on as Secretary of Recruiting, but former President ACKJVR has taken over for Indian Gangs as Secretary of Defense. William Hanover is the new Secretary of State, taking over for current Vice President Blake Hanover. And Dante Tagiarello-Hanover took over as Secretary of the Interior. Indian Gangs has big expectations for this cabinet. "The United Federation is comprised of resilient citizens who wish to see the region progress as far as possible. When I was elected President just a few days ago, I hoped to harness this devotion. My Cabinet represents those with experience and special activity in the field they were appointed to. The main goal is to not only keep activity high, but to create a productive and enjoyable environment for everyone. As President, I am going to push my Cabinet everyday, but that's my job. We will be looking for new allies, new culture, and more involvement on the larger scale of NS. I firmly believe we reach a new high by the end of the term."Neisse's ReturnNeisse, the founder of TUF, has returned to TUF in sweeping fashion, rushing into the Senate with a victory in last week’s elections and leading the recruiting drive to bring TUF back to its former position. After experiencing a huge drop in nation count, the nation number is back on the climb. Neisse said, "I came back to Nationstates after a short summer vacation. I had no intention of getting back into public life but when called upon to serve I will do so." We’re glad she is back!New Senate Size; New SpeakerThe Senate shrunk to 5 people this election, in accordance with an amendment passed that fixes Senate Size to amount of registered candidates. One Senate seat is available for every 3 registered voters. Neisse took over Speaker as the only nominee, Isaac Hanover dropped out after Neisse announced her nomination. This is a rarity, as the majority party, the United National Party, does not hold the Office of Speaker of the Senate, while the Democratic-Republican Party, led by Neisse, does.Interview With Dante Tagariello-HanoverThe Federal: First off, congratulations on your victory in the Senate. How does it feel to have achieved the highest number of votes in your elections? Dante Tagariello-Hanover: It honestly is just normal, numbers to me in this case are unimportant. I do appreciate the support and I am glad I polled so well, but honestly whether I polled the highest or just made it in the senate, I would still work as hard as I possibly can. TF: You are also the new Secretary of the Interior. What do you plan to do in that department? DTH: My initial plan is to rid of all inactive threads, it is taking up space and these thread are not even used, so why add the mess. Also as Interior Secretary, I am pushing for more RP gaming and an organized forum. TF: You have recently became much more active on TUF's forums. What lead to this resurgence? DTH: It is evident that the past few week and TUF have not been it's greatest. My activity has been boosted by my return, I had left TUF for a break, but have returned full time (when school is over for the day or I'm not busy with RL things) and I do not think I will take another break. TF: Thank you for your time. DTH: Thank you for the interview!
