From the Skyrim Ministry of Communications![]() Update 9/14 Administrative This update comes to you as Skyrim begins a new election cycle for all positions in the regional administration-polls open this Sunday and campaigning is actively happening. Notable positions that are available during the elections include World Assembly Delegate (WAD), Prime Minister (head of foreign relations), Commander-General (head of the military), as well as multiple Ministry and judicial positions. This is always an exciting time, and the people are excited for what is usually one of the most active two weeks we see. Campaigning is already underway, with more interest in administrative positions than we have ever had. The current World Assembly Delegate (yours truly) is running for a third consecutive term. Other noteworthy moves include
With the new term, WAD Skyrim Diplomacy has introduced the Ministry of Communications, who will assume all mass communication duties outside of Skyrim, including foreign updates like these as well as bringing regular news updates of the world to Skyrim. Skyrim has faced a constantly revolving changing of the guard this term. Two Prime Ministers and one Speaker have left this term, the latest being Prime Minister Soviet Yuran. The former Prime Minister was issued a DOS from game administrators after
With the subsequent deletion of the former Prime Minister and all nations ever using his IP address, the Prime Minister powers have temporarily been transferred via the Skyrim Line of Succession to High Councilor Lewis Browns until the new election cycle is completed. Internal Affairs Skyrim has seen a disheartening amount of CTEs in the past weeks, with more than 30 nations dying in the past week alone. Though our Developmental Initiatives team has fought valiantly to keep the numbers up, Skyrim has nonetheless lost a considerable amount of nations. This leads to other problems, including reduced WA nations (though the endorsement percentage has consistently hovered around 80%) and forum participation. The Skyrim Regional Forums recently underwent a massive purge by the admin there. Users who had registered but failed to post anything had their accounts deactivated to better reflect the actual number of members using the forums. To the immense disappointment of the administration, this pruning cut the user numbers nearly in half. However, the Assembly has recently seen a surge in new legislation now that a 30% participation quota set in the Skyrim Constitution can now realistically be met for polling. Foreign Affairs Skyrim has continued to pursue relations with embassy regions. Earlier this month, Skyrim signed the Scardino Pact with Lone Wolves United and chartered membership in the NS Republic via the West Pacific. Both alliances promise to be active and prosperous relationships. Skyrim is also fostering young relationships with the recently well-publicized United Defenders League, who got into a scrap with Tikal and Evil Wolf of Lone Wolves United and Halcones of The Black Hawks when they used a coding glitch to pre-endorse nations before actually entering the region. The administration hopes that this can be a prosperous and pleasant relationship for all parties involved. Skyrim Armed Forces Skyrim has continued to recruit nations for their military efforts, but has no intention of mobilizing any time soon. Rumors of a military operation in Warzone Europe surfaced some weeks ago, but did not come to fruition. This has been a Skyrim News Net Update, brought to you by the Skyrim Ministry of Communications! |

I've never really understood pruning form accounts. There's lots of people who like to lurk/browse but not post, and it just inconveniences them. Added to that, forum accounts have useful info... email addresses and IPs, which are worth keeping a record of

We just had a problem meeting our voting quotas with so many inactive members. All official polls in Skyrim must have a 30% participation from all members (minus diplomats), so having 20+ inactive members was really hampering any effort to get legislation passed. However, we are in the process of amending that particular clause in our Constitution, so hopefully I can reinstate all those accounts shortly

Ah yeah, that's a problem. You'd be better off having it as 30% of citizens, though then you'd have to introduce requirements for citizenship etc. |
