Issue #2: July 11, 2011

It came as a shock to some people when the State of Emergency was declared in Jethnea, it was an unfortunate event. However, it is very much evident today that the State of Emergency had a positive effect on the region – especially its activity. The regional activity plummeted during early June but had gradually risen back up and since July came, not a day has passed without having 20 or more registered users go online per day.

Currently, the Transitional Government has took charge, and are composed of Silmeria as the Culture Minister, Drop Your Pants as the Foreign Minister, and Hi-5 as the Immigration Minister. Ambassadorial positions are gradually filled and the Jethnea Regional Guard is in the process of getting back to its feet.

The Constitutional Convention has been brewing ideas and topics that are currently being discussed are:
Having a Rewards system and a Party System.
Several proposals have also made it to the floor for debate and discussion such as a Triumvirate proposed by Alos, and a Duumvirate/Constitutional Monarchy proposed by Harmoneia.

The Role Play section is also getting more exciting with games certain threads such as Fallout: Jethnea and Jethnea'la Summit.
A discussion for a new map, the RP that will be tied with it, as well as the search for the next new cartographer is also currently on-going in a thread called: New Direction for the "Map"

Generally, if you are curious as to what else is happening in Jethnea.. then read on:

Rosepine

JETHNEA CITY: Unusual sounds and smells filled the air near the port this morning as ships from all over Jethnea began to unload. As the Jethnean Agricultural Fair (JEAGFA) begins in just a few days from now, livestock from Naleloospalakintula and DYP (hoítosa and drunken sheep, respectfully) along with other large beasts are being put to into stalls near the fairgrounds just south of the docks. Temporary small animal corrals and and cages have also been set up nearby, containing, among many other animals, fluffy chinchillas from Garcia-DeLeon, cuddly koalas from Earthy Heaven, white ostriches from Sweet Britain, and lovely moonbeasts from Rosepine.

Although the uneasy political upheavals of late have made a significant dent in the number of nations and citizens in attendance, those who have arrived have not been discouraged. In fact, several of the judges from Henningania and South Harmoneia commented that less participants meant a better chance for those where were there to win a prize. Champion Blue Ribbon animals bring their owners a cash prize along with an increased value for not only the animal that won but also their offspring.

Of course, for the children of Jethnea City, the JEAGFA is a highlight of the year. Rare treats and trinkets from all over Jeathnea can be bought and admired, and the small animal exhibits are a favorite. Mechanical rides and token stands are set up near the docks, and for the third year the Jethnean Inventor’s Guild (JEINGU) set up a big-top tent with contraptions to amaze and delight as well as educate children. The children’s area (free for those twelve and under but welcome to all ages) will open at nine-thirty and
