I hereby officially challenge Sedge for the Officership of Foreign Affairs. Whatever I might think of him personally, I don't think that now is the time to have him in control of the foreign affairs of the Rejected Realms. CV and Campaign speech to follow when I've woken up a little more. |

I feel that Sedge has really brought activity in TRR since Kandarin retired, and has done a great work in the FA Department. Despite his responsibility in, erm *coughs* 'other events', I don't think it will affect the reputation of the region, apart from those people who already couldn't stand him/us (several). I don't know your position on TSP, but I don't see how you could change anything, or do anything better, or improve our FA. Anyway, I'll wait your Campaign speech. Feel free to ignore what I've said until then

Challenge on hold until I can challenge Sedge properly (vacancies have to be filled first). I will withdraw the challenge if he's removed from the Foreign Affairs Officership. |

Pardon the double post, if nobody's posted in between... in lieu of an actual challenge, as it appears I'll have to wait my turn, have a principled argument about why Sedge should not be permitted to remain as Officer for Foreign Affairs. Petition to Remove Sedge I hereby officially petition the Delegate, Naivetry, to reassign Sedge to another role which will have no possibility of bringing harm to the Rejected Realms in this difficult time. Negotiations, which will likely be ongoing and tense, are almost undoubtedly about to begin between the governing bodies of the South Pacific and the Rejected Realms, and the Founderless Regions Alliance and the Rejected Realms. Rather than cut off ties immediately, I'm reasonably certain that these two governments, at the very least, will come knocking on our door ask exactly what the hell happened. I don't think it sends the best message to our ally and to the region which was recently under Sedge's rule to have Sedge open the door when they get here. I am concerned, also, about the message it sends to other feeders and sinkers when Sedge darkens their doorstep for whatever negotiations or discussions we might have. It leaves a certain spectre looming over the entire issue, when the person you're politely discussing the future of TRR and, say, the Pacific with might be angling to steal your position away under another name. I fear what Defenders might say of us, knowing that one of their own has "joined the dark side," if I can use the term, fully aware of the irony implied by my using it. I fear how difficult we may find it to receive warm welcomes from our traditional allies even without Sedge as officer. I'm an invader, at least part time, and I admit a good part of the challenge is to see Sedge removed from his post. Not because I hate Sedge (I don't), or because I want to see him humiliated in any way, but because the Rejected Realms foreign affairs profile is going to be hurt a great deal if he remains. I'm a bit surprised he didn't offer his resignation when this all came to light, but however he might feel capable of moving past this in good standing among our traditional allies and the other feeders and sinkers, I don't see it as a possibility. |

If he is happy to be reassigned I would support it, I wouldn't be surprised if he agreed that for the good of the region is was a sensible move. But I certainly wouldn't condone removing him from that position by force, he made it his own when noone else wanted to step up to the plate and we had no other recognised officers and I dont think any of this should undo the work he has put into our region, especially given as most of these matters are unrelated to TRR |

Im confused to hell here. Accusations, challenges, news of bans, excessively harsh demands and godknows what are flying round here. Including my accusations in another thread so im not claiming innocence in all that. Just in most of it. We need things sorting out because we just have no regional stability right now. Ever since the recent FRA incident. We need to get a grip. All of us |

Agreed. For the moment, btw, I'm going to go ahead and reassign Sedge. The world needs a chance to cool off, and for that matter, so do we. He'll be covering voting in the Assembly and WA affairs... and other odd jobs. Call it something like "administrative coordinator". |
