It kind of seems contradictory for the FRA (set up to defend the sovereignty of regions) to force its member regions to select their representatives in a certain way.

As far as I'm concerned, unless we legislate otherwise, this comes under Foreign Affairs, and I'm more than happy to appoint you as our second representative to the FRA.
Yeah I agree, which is why I'm arguing as such, but one of the arguments is over reps not having the backing of the entire region, so I wanted to counter that argument first :P

Gotta watch those sovereignty arguments. :P

Maybe ask member regions to tell you how they want to choose their reps, so you can know who to check with to make sure someone is authorized to speak on behalf of the region?

And yeah, no objections from me.

Just simply ask if the Fra is now going to dictate to member regions how the are to operate their government.

If they are, they are not protecting our soveignty, they are infringing on it.

It's not up to the fra to dictate how we select our reps, or any other position.
Those who don't create, dictate
The structure of our world and preach hate

Likako is arguing over other stuff and is being equally annoying :P
In this world there are two kinds of people: those with loaded guns and those who dig. I dig.

Lol this is the amendment that has come up to vote:

The following is proposed as an amendment to the Charter, Article 2 Section 2:
Quote:

ii)All signatories are to select, in a manner of their own choosing, two representatives. Protectorate Regions must chose one. They are encouraged to select these representatives via a means that is democratic in nature, and where this is deemed disagreeable seek confirmation of the choice from their citizenry via popular referendum. These Representatives are the signatories' official liaisons to the organisation and can vote on issues brought up in the Regional Assembly.

I've voted against it, as it encroaches on regional sovereignty, though it is a vastly watered down version of another proposal. Very unlikely to pass, but is receiving a few votes in support.

Well the clause can't be enforced in any way at all, but it's the FRA suggesting that member regions behave in a certain way. Pointless and insulting :P

Indeed. Disappointed it even made it to vote, but it can be defeated there I guess :P

I've also voted against the proposal as it is going to violate our sovereignty.
