Information: The Rejected Realms is NationStates' only ejection-free zone. It forms a refuge for those who find themselves no longer welcome in their previous regions, for whatever reason. We have a well-developed community here that is open to newcomers. Home to the Rejected Realms Army, the region is nonetheless welcoming to invaders, defenders, and neutrals alike. Newcomers to the forum should register an account using their nation name, and start a new thread in the Introductions forum. Make sure you stop by the BBQ & Grill! |

Q: What am I doing here? I was in another region the last time I logged on. The Rejected Realms is the destination for nations ejected from other regions. The Founder (or, if he/she is allowed to, the Delegate) of your former region must have been displeased with you in some way and ejected you. Q: So did I just lose the game? Nope. Ejection doesn't harm your nation in the slightest, it just moves it to a different region. Depending on your views, whoever ejected you might even have done you a favor - it's probably much nicer here. Q: The region I was in last has completely disappeared! What happened? If this has happened, this means your region was 'region-griefed', or destroyed by mass ejection. This is currently a legal tactic as of the most recent iteration of the Nationstates rules. It was not legal previously. Game Administration tries to control this via the "Influence" system; Region emptying now takes considerably more time and effort than it did when it was illegal. Q: Can I be ejected from the Rejected Realms? No, nobody can eject nations from the Rejected Realms. Since ejections send nations to this region, ejecting someone from the Rejected Realms (if it were possible) would just send them right back here. Q: Who are all these people asking for my endorsement? One of them is the Delegate - you are always advised to endorse the Delegate, as this helps keep the region secure, and increases our influence. Some of the others might be Vice Delegates - they're worth endorsing too. As for the others, they're 'endorsement-swappers', using mass telegrams and endorsements to gather large numbers of endorsements. It's always a good idea to know what the policies of the person who's asking for your endorsement are before you endorse them - many people have found themselves used as unwitting tools of invasion by foreign regions with imperialist aims. Q: OK, so what should I do next? That's up to you. You may be able to return to your previous region, if you weren't banned, or if it no longer exists (you can re-found it). However, you may want to look for a new one - in which case, read through the telegrams you may be getting from recruiters, or check out the NationStates Gameplay forum for regional adverts. Alternately, you could stay here... Q: I'm going to stay here. What do I have to do now? Again, that's your decision. You could choose to chat on the RMB - or you could look to get involved in the community and government here. If you do that, post a new thread in this forum to introduce yourself, and then apply for Citizenship in this thread. If you're relatively new to NationStates, or regional politics, ask for a Mentor in this thread - they can answer any questions you have, and help you settle in. Q: How does the region work? We're a democratic region with a written Constitution. We have an Assembly that is responsible for legislation and electing officials, a Delegate who heads the region in-game and directs the government, Officers who are tasked with carrying out the government's duties, and a Speaker who organises the Assembly. The Rejected Realms Army is separate from this system, but shares a forum. It has its own Commanders, who run it. Q: How do I get involved? Now that's the question we want to hear. Have a look around the forums, and see which ones interest you. Once you're feeling comfortable with the debates there, start posting - there's no need to be shy. Joining the debates in the Assembly, or on World Assembly proposals is a good way to start. If you're looking to get involved in the government, see the forum header - there's a list of links to threads where you can sign up for jobs. You can also message any of the Officials listed in the header, to ask about getting involved in their department - they'll be more than happy to help you out. Q: What's the IRC channel? IRC = Internet Relay Chat. We have a channel that we use for real-time chat, about the region, NationStates, and random real-world stuff. Hanging around in the channel is a good way to get to know fellow members of the region (and various other NSers). The easiest way to get onto IRC is to use the widget hosted on our forums here.
