She was almost a pacifist, only letting some fury bubble below the surface and letting it free well out of the way of others. Her parents, a pair of tieflings, were worried for her, for she seemed frightened by any conflict. Her only desire was to make up for who she was, an unhealthy attitude at best. This all changed when a group of raiders came into town, demanding free food and rest or they would take what they wanted. Only one man, an elderly human, stood against them, the rest of the town terrified. That man was a priest of Pelor, who fought the leader in single combat. His name was Katath the Golden, and he was the kindest man Laraea had ever met – kinder to her than almost anyone, not counting her parents. It was almost sundown when Katath was laid low by the raider's captain after he took down three of the raiders, and he whispered an invocation of his god. Laraea watched as the man's axe swung down, and she screamed a bloody-hell, bloodthirsty scream – her first rage she'd ever shown in public. Her cry and the death of the priest alerted Pelor to the situation at hand, and he unleashed a searing bolt from the setting sun. The bolt tore the raider's captain into blacked fleshy halves, which crumbled to dust and showed the black bones remaining. The few raiders that were left fled in terror while Laraea cried over her only friend's corpse. Laraea was granted the privilege of leading the procession of Katath's funeral, and saying the opening prayers and the first speech. She composed herself well during this time, and went to the temple where Katath once worked for prayer afterwards. Pelor, seeing the girl's sorrow and purity, helped her to cast off part of her personal stigma and blessed her with his power, telling her that she was his chosen and should bear her new power proudly. Personality: Laraea, who goes by “Sky” to honor Pelor's celestial body, is still shy and not very strong of personality. She only unleashes her wrath when she knows there is no other way – typically with fiends, orcs and similar humanoids, and those who otherwise seek to harm others for no decent reason. She holds other priests of Pelor (and paladins) in higher regard due to her humbleness, and does not dare raise her voice. Only if a friend is downed (whether he stays down or not) will she unleash her infernal wrath. She prefers to announce her presence at any temple of Pelor, to make sure she is known and accepted among the priests. Appearance: Laraea has two sets of clothing – a set for mourning, including a black veil draped via her horns, and a typical adventuring set. She wears the mourning outfit during any funeral she happens to be present at, while the adventuring outfit has many pockets and is there purely to keep the hide armor from chafing. She dresses conservatively when not in armor, and her eyes are a bright yellow – a color rarely heard of among tieflings. She claims that they were once a green color, and that Pelor changed them when he contacted her. Her hair is a dark red, and usually has a single braid in the back.
