Searching for 4 characters for a 4e game. Use any rules from any books (including Essentials) to make your character, but be sure to point to which book each rule is in in notes or something. The only exceptions are the Vampire “class” in Heroes of Shadow (sorry, but no) and the Dark Sun stuff (which I don't have). * The world is young. Strange beasts form in elemental energies as the gods and primordials war and their blood spills to the world below – your home. The gods take on the mantle of Law and Order; the primordials see the ways of Chaos and Entropy as the best way. Both created the world from each others' power and their own, but now they fight for the right to rule mortals and dictate their fates. You are from a large village that sees fights at least once a month, with godly clergy being replaced by primordial priests and vice-versa every battle or three. You and your fellows have seen these battles long enough, and have decided to do something about it...something fairly drastic. * This game will have multiple stages; the first is a Heroic-Tier-Only game (which will only take 10 levels). The second stage is in the same world, but many generations later, with Heroic and Paragon Tiers (20 levels). The third stage will be many generations later (again), with Heroic, Paragon, and Epic Tiers (30 levels). Tieflings! Tieflings are part demon, part human (not humans with a devil curse on their lineage). Some tieflings have more demon blood, others more human. They are not born from simple "demon and human get nasty", but from demons performing dark rituals or possessing gestating children. Demons in this game are not like SD demons, they are evil and nasty. They are also Neutral Evil (alignment change mentioned below), despite their elemental origins. Tieflings are not evil by nature, but some of them drift (or flat-out run) that way because people get scared. Obviously, the canonical Tiefling Empire did not exist - nor did the Dragonborn Empire. At least, it does not yet. One major thing to note: as per canon 4e, gods have angels as servants; primordials had demons before they broke away and decided to do their own thing, and now use elementals. Angels are not Christian angels - they are more like the Arabian Djinn (smokeless fire and all that) and serve the god they are created by. They can be good or evil depending on the god they serve, and don't really see anything wrong with serving their god to the letter and spirit - even if another suffers for it. One more thing: Alignment is a la OLD D&D, not 4e. Canon 4e has a sliding scale of Lawful Good to Chaotic Evil, 5 alignments. That was, IMO, one of the mistakes they made, so you have 9 alignments again – LG, LN, LE, NG, N, NE, CG, CN, CE. Note that if you are Chaotic you are likely aligned with the primordials, not the gods, and Lawful people are aligned with the gods and not the primordials. ...k last thing I promise. Inventing powers: you can do that. Just run it by me first and I'll see if it's a fair comparison. |
Tentacle Grape Soda. I'm serious.
