Weird things change when you get old! Now, I am going through something with my feet. I have always had long, skinny feet. Think skis. I wear a big size in narrow. My size has increased by one full size over the past two years. I can wear sandals and boots, but dress shoes don't fit anymore. They fall off my feet when I am walking even if they fit fine when I try them on. I have to curl my toes to keep them on. I would blame the shoes, but there is this other weird problem. Socks don't stay up either! Anything not over the ankle slips down. Only on the left. I have tried all sorts of socks including those made for left and right feet. All sorts of brands. I have to wear shorty socks which I don't really like the looks of, but less annoying than slipping down in my shoe! Most of the time, I wear taller socks for my paddock boots; but when I exercise walk, I do like footie socks. Any ideas? Remember the kind with little pom poms on the back? I need those. How about shoes? There are times I need to wear dress shoes and not boots or sandals. Even shoes I have had for awhile are falling off. You have to be tough to get old! |

Try the Walmart house brand socks (George I think they're called), I wear the regular crew socks, and they're not all cotton (at least I don't think they're 100%) but they're comfy. They come in packs of six or so, and they stay up for me. |

They still sell them. I have some (although they look awful on my cankles. :teehee:) Just do a search for pom pom socks and you will get a ton of choices. I can't help you with anything else. |

Just one more of the sad list of things as we grow old. Your feet spread and get bigger as you get older. I used to be an 8, now I am a 9. Not to mention I have the worlds worst feet and spending most of my life on them has taken it's toll. I HAve the feet from hell! My podiatrist said about the worst he has seen. I miss those footies with the pompoms. I would buy a case if I could find them again. |
