Ok, I think there has been a lot of misunderstanding and disagreement here, which is normal and fine. But let's not make this thread into a constant airing of dirty laundry. At some point we all need to agree that we are a diverse group with diverse opinions. This thread doesn't need to continue in circles.
Well I have a way of changing the subject.. is that your horse in your avatar?? Just gorgeous! what a cool color!
I'll help you discuss horse stuff! Yes, that is my young horse, Oreo (I know, I am so cleaver with Names!). I bought him on the cheep by accident thinking I could turn him in to a useful horse for a kid. Well, darn it, now I'm attached and he is rocking it in the jumper ring at the 1.20m, which is easy for him. It will be interesting to see how high he will jump. He is the first jumper I've had - it is sooooooo much fun!

Can't we all just get along? Sorry...couldn't resist. :teehee: :teehee:

Now I'm glad I just lurk here and on TOB. And I have my own little piece of heaven and stick to myself (with my wonderful husband and "kids"). :nyah:

I came on this thread because I saw it had grown to 6 pages and I thought that video must be really funny! Boy, I was surprised.

The whole Internet is dumbed down to the back patting, "You go Girl" mentality. It isn't just this board. Look at TOB! My gosh, the jumping rounds that are posted and the riders asking for critiques and they get, "Wow, I love your horse. You look awesome". The rider should be walking over poles on the ground! All of Facebook is the same way. Someone posts some ugly pic of their offspring and everyone jumps on it saying how beautiful the child is...I think that is all anyone wants anymore. Attention and butt kissing. No one is honest online. I do realize no one should ever criticize a child for their looks. It was just an example.

So, that brings us back to this board. Several years ago, I posted a question about step children. I got brutally honest answers. Some members were very cut and dry with me. I respected them for bringing their point of view to my attention. I looked at things differently after asking that question and I changed my actions because of that thread. It helped me with the whole step children issue I was facing at the time. It would not have been helpful for everyone to say, "Oh, WFM, you are doing a great job. Hang in there." I believe Indy was one of the ones who told me like it should be and she is still one of my favorite posters. No hard feelings. V and I have butted heads, too; but I still enjoy her posts and would not think twice to buy something from her if she had something I needed.

That was the good part of the Internet. You could get lots of opinions and on the horse forums, you could get help with your horse issues. You don't have to be friends IRL. You can just be online friends and respect their life experiences. I wish we would get back to the honest opinion days. And recently, we did have a post by Eleanor that got a bit heated. Maybe that was a good thing. Let's all try to get back to the way it was.
