Agreed. It seemed a little mean-spirited.

v, you seem to have a knack for turning an opportunity for positivity into a negative thing. What I simply wanted to share out of joy has turned into something that is far from what I intended.

Ok, I'm coming out of my self-imposed relative silence around here to respond to this. What on earth are you talking about?

Although this board was created in response to a desire not to have mean spirited arguments and heavy-handed moderation, have you all looked around at what it's become? Seriously? At least in my mind, what I see a lot of around here is everyone patting everyone else around here on the back that's gone way beyond being supportive (what's the female version of a circle jerk?) where it's not ok to be frank with one another while it's perfectly OK to trash or speak unkindly of outsiders. V is someone whose posts I look forward to reading because she's honest without ever being unkind. What we aren't missing around here are opportunities to be positive--that's just about every post on every thread--what we are all missing a little bit around here is a polite reality check from time to time. I didn't read V's post as unkind, I read it as offering a different perspective in a polite manner.

If y'all keep it up, you're going to continue scaring away more and more "horse-related posters". I personally, and I'm guessing the moderators who went away, no longer post because well, this board has gone so far from its origins that its almost unrecognizable.

Thank you V for always keepin' it real.

Going back under my rock now.

Hey now, don't let my bad behavior reflect on fishy! She meant nothing bad. I on the other hand thought she looked crazy. ;)

Get a grip everyone! I believe FB has been the down fall of the TOC! Not circle jerking etc! Most of us are on FB, except fishy! I still enjoy the TOC!

Let's be honest...RH isn't complete wrong...we tend to be exceptionally nice here on TOC. It works for me 'cause I let my inner bitch fly on TOB when I feel like it (my inner bitch is quite a tiny little thing most days, but sometimes? Watch Out.) I am glad though, that people try to be kind here when offering critique or criticism.

I did think CL referred to the girl's SUPER long....and gangly legs. 'Cause she was gangly in the video. But it looks like it was boredom, as she is quite capable of graceful as shown in the dress reheresal video.

VXF brings up a point that was good for me to remember...even though we feel like a small community on this site, we do have a broader audience. Take that as you will...

I will say, however, that if my crazy bitch neighbor ever ends up here, I hope she reads that I think she's the most selfish, rude person I've ever met. And she needs to keep her grimy paws off my stuff. Oh wait, I', suppose to save that for TOB. :teehee:

Fishy, first of all, I APPLAUD YOU for taking up a life long dream and desire to dance!! Terrific!! I think that is so cool!

You guys may not remember (it's been a looonnngg time ago I posted about this), but waaaayyy back in the Dark Ages (1968-1970) I danced in New York with the Joffrey, and also with other companies later on. Stories, I have stories! Fishy, your "Madame" is actually kind of "normal" for a dance mistress...drama, sort of listening but not listening to the gypsies (dancers) and not being really logical certainly seemed to be my experience in many dancing environments. Frankly, from your postings about her and your experiences, I think you have handled it all really well! Not easy, I admit, but, in time you will look back on this FUN experience and be glad you stepped out and did your dream!

As to nicknames...I will only say this...the theater (includes dance troupes, musicians, orchestras, backstage techs, etc), is FULL of "nicknames"...nice and not nice. Frankly, I have heard the moniker "CrazyLegs" many times...usually meaning either long legs, or a dancer of amazing talent. When I initially read her post mentioning that name I did not take it negatively, but then I am referring to my own experiences. But, I just thought I'd mention that nicknames are very common...you should have heard some of them I had given to me! EEEEK! But, I can see how here it might have been interpreted differently.

OTOH, Snack Pack, I just snorted some water onto the keyboard when I read about your comments on your neighbor! LOL! Hmmm, yep, I have a few candidates in my life like that! Can I hire your inner beotch to help there? (That WAS a joke meant in fun, btw!).

I do not understand how the board has changed! I love TOC and appreciate all the support I receive! I do not do TOB! I do not want that type of interaction!
