Sounds like you guys are settling into life together, and that she is overcoming some of the things that were initially concerning. I'm so glad for you, and for her! You'll have to post some pics of her one of these days.

We have one more private lesson with the trainer on Wednesday morning. Her fear of cars is about 90% improved. Other dogs are still an issue but it's getting better every day. She has really settled in around the house and rides well in the car. It's fun watching her gradually get comfortable around here. Finding her own routines, her favorite places to sleep, etc. She is just a bundle of love and a pleasure to live with. Her personality seems more like a Golden Retriever to me than a Shepherd. Thanks for asking , I'll post more pics in the future.

It's not slip covered, but I wish it was! I threw a sheet over it after she started sleeping on it. Cocoa loved sleeping there too.

She's adorable and looks like she's being a helpful girl at home - being dishwasher inspector and gravity assistant (you know, so the couch doesn't float away) are very important dog jobs.

I think her expression is a little insecure and questioning, like, "Is this really okay?" She's feeling plenty secure about being up there now. I think she slept there all night last night!

It's been a little bit of a roller coaster, but all things considered things are going really well. My biggest worry, my long work days, have not been a problem at all. She is super smart and learning her obedience skills quickly. We still have our problem with reactivity to other dogs, but she is getting better walking by the neighborhood dogs when they are outside and barking. She continues to be worried about pretty much everything on our walks, but every day is a little bit better. I get the feeling her world was very small and she has been exposed to nothing before she came to me. I took this picture about a month ago with the timer on my camera.
