Sophia was AMAZING!! Those of us riding with her were just watching her and thinking, "sigh. I wish I rode half as well!" And her pony is simply stunning.

Today was not a great day for me, riding-wise, but I, and Sam (who is very green -- as in, this was his first time in an indoor) learned a lot, and I thought I did OK considering what I was riding. Plus, GM gave me some invaluable advice regarding Sam, which confirmed my thoughts, so it was well worth it. Oh, he also told me to make sure that I keep the horse I rode yesterday, as he liked him a lot. ;)

I came back to audit the 3'6" section, which was fabulous. It had Sharon White, Alison Springer (on Arthur), an upper-level jumper rider, and my friend Tracey on her A/O hunter. They are all great riders, and really rose to meet GM's exercises, which were VERY challenging. GM ended by asking Tracey if she was married, and when she said "yes" and her husband waved from the side where he was videoing, GM looked disgusted and then said, "it's ok, we can keep our relationship secret." LOL. Needless to say, Tracey was on her game this afternoon! ;)

Afterwards, I came home and rode Warlock, incorporating what I learned when riding and the flat exercises that the High group did today, and WOW, he was amazing. Seriously the best flatwork we have ever done. :)

Thank you so much for the compliments on Sophia and Trip. That is so nice of you.

I love how much he stresses the basics. I really saw where the holes are in both the kid and pony. Also, it was nice to hear that all the things I harp on, he harped on too.

Was the horse you were on today a good racehorse? With that stride, I can't believe anything could beat him on the track. He just gobbles up the ground.

Did you get to see any of the 3 foot section today? I was dying to stay, but with a 5 hour drive home, I figured I had better leave early.

Did Tracey do the 2'6" section on Wednesday on a foxhunter that George was just dying over? I think that was the girls name and the horse was just lovely. He kept saying, "If this is your foxhunter, what the heck must your other horses be like?"

LOL Sam is actually 1/2 WB! Amazing, I know, as he looks 100% like a huge TB. But yes his stride is SO big, it is a shame he isn't a better jumper, as he would clean up in the jumper ring.

I did not see any of the 3' section, as I had to take Sam back home and do a few errands. GM said that there were "several meltdowns," mostly about the oxer-vertical-oxer 1:1 line, where a few people fell off, and then some more issues when he raised a few jumps to 3'3" and some other people starting squawking. It didn't sound like he was too impressed with the Med group's behavior today.

Yes, Tracey was on her TB foxhunter, Brandywine, on Weds in the 2'6". She rode her jumper on Tues in the 3'6" section. She is a lovely rider, and takes several lessons each week with both an eventer (who used to start all of Karen O'Connor's horses at the lower levels) and a hunter trainer (Peter F.). She has the crucial things necessary to be a success: talent, dedication, and willingness to listen! She was a top jr rider, with wins at both Devon & H'burg in the Lg Jrs. Oh, and did I mention she is an attorney AND a nurse anesthetist? ;) it is a good thing she isso personable, as she is such an over-achiever she makes us all look bad! But she really WORKS, and has never expected to be handed anything. Her horses have really come along since she started boarding at Beverly, as the facilities are SO nice.

Can I ask a random question?

In that shot it looks like the sidewall can bend open? Is that the case? How does that work? That's a big in/out door and then they can fold the sidewall over it?

That is it exactly. Think of a big roll up garage door, and the double-jointed wall opens to about 16' wide. The doors swing up and in and then lay flat against the wall when open.

V,

Like Beverly Equestrian Center on Facebook and you can see a ton of pictures of the facility. It's amazing. The barn and the grounds are so beautiful.

Everyone looks soooo great !!!

Witchy - I may need that pony when Lily is old enough! He makes my heart go pitter patter. Sophia is a wonderful little rider. Bonny jumping like that is precisely why she will never be for sale! I still pinch myself everyday to make sure I'm not dreaming and that she really is my horse. Never in my wildest dreams did I think she would turn out this well.

Devon - you & Quest look fabulous as always. I will echo V on the looking skinny part too - you look great!
