So, my knowledge of the leadline/short stirrup set is severely lacking.

I think I have the whole outfit ready to go - jodpphurs, garter straps, brown boots (zipped), shirt, belt, coat, gloves, helmet.

But where I'm stumped is her hair!

I think it can be french braided. I am guessing it's long enough. I don't french braid. So, I will have to beg another barn mom to help out, which I'm sure someone will do, but - bows confound me.

How big should the bows be? Where does one get these bows? I stopped into a girly boutique out here yesterday but saw nothing that I thought would work.

We are doing leadline at St. Chris' this Saturday to prepare, so it would be great if I could find someone who will do overnight shipping. IIRC, St. Chris' doesn't exactly have a lot of vendors, so I wouldn't count on finding something appropriate there, but perhaps I'm wrong?

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Two braids, if she's got enough hair for it, with bows on the end.

Check places like Etsy for bows. A quick search for "horse show bows":
http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade?q=horse%20show%20bow&view_type=gallery&ship_to=ZZ&min=0&max=0

Not sure if any of them overnight ship but you can message the sellers to find out. Or at the very least you can get an idea of what they look like if you want to makeshift your own temporarily. Ideally they shouldn't be so big that they cover up your daughter's number or look like they are eating her head.

If I was home I'd bring you some, but I'm still in FL until Tues. You can pick up little plain red, pink or purple bows at AC Moore. These would be more than appropriate for leadline. Otherwise, you can call tack shops in your area and ask them to text some pics of the bows they have and then ship them to you.

I usually make my own.

I don't like huge bows. Only little tiny ones, especially on leadline kids.

You can use a hairnet and then then pull her hair out through the back to braid it, or French Braid it, but that might make her helmet uncomfortable.

there are tons of people on FB who do bows, including our very own Mamy, look for her under "Dream Girl Bows", I also like Bowz and Braidz, and Cenzina Couture. Totally agree on leadline you want to do small, very small tails if any, but something colorful and fun.

I wish you were closer, I have a ton of bows I'd happily let you borrow!
