This is actually a sister (same sire) to the giant chesnut horse we discussed. They asked if I could help them free jump the horse for video since I have jumps and an arena. I told them no problem. They are very nice.

I rode her after we free jumped. I thought I had set it up for a slightly short two stride but the mare kept doing it in ONE :o She's just turned 3. Holsteiner x TB cross. Like the gelding she's quite tall already.

I'm afraid I might like her. :shoot:

She's definitely not winning any conformation prizes but she looks cute under tack.

Hard to say, she's a tall girl but not as clunky as her brother.

:psycho: I think I like her so you guys need to point out all the horrible things you see ;) Talk me out of it. I do wish she were a better mover.

I'm not in love with her hind end. I suspect it because she has not had any work like the gelding, but she seem a we bit to loose from the hock up through the stifle. Again she's got the gangly 3 y/o I've not grow into my body thing going also. I don't know let me see her in two years and I'll be able to make a decision then Sparky. :innocent:

Man in that first video she has the same gaits as her sire. First time I have seen an almost perfect replica to Loti's trot, has the typical canter. She is worse to the right than the left as far as balance and I do not like how she used her hind leg jumping at all.

There was something I was told about the stifle... Trying to remember. It was something along the lines of surgery but I don't want to say for sure. I do remember the SO telling someone the reason why he wasn't jumping or riding the stallion was because of his stifles and if something were to happen he couldn't breed him anymore. But then again, now he has his WS riding the stallion and jumping and is telling people he gave the stallion three years off for arthritis....

Are his offspring known to have hind end issues?

Yes, she was bad to the right. After a few minutes she did start listening though. The video you see is after we worked on it for a bit.
We initially went outside to ride but her lack of steering and my lack of arena fence didn't work so well.

I loved riding her canter and I think she's sensible and might be pretty laid back. But that's just my first impression. Like the gelding, she is overpriced. If she were cheap, Id probably just go ahead and buy her.

I believe they are a lot you have to be careful with when you get one that shoots up like a weed. She is no where near done growing looking like that picture. Unless the dam was a cow, I have yet to see one offspring stay at that stage and I've seen one out of a cow bred paint mare! That being said, do not like that stifle angle, doesn't fit with the rest of the lower leg.

I see what you love about her, but I would have to pass on that hind end, and the dullness about her. That always worries me. I want a 3 year old to be very bright. I would do some basic coordination/neurological tests on her. But I just don't like that really slow, looks like you need to kick them around type of horse, especially not a 3 years old.

She also looks like she needs to be thrown out to pasture until next year.
