I have been using them for almost a year. I was using Ranitidine every day and decided to try the pop rocks. Honestly, the horse acts the same on pop rocks as he did the Ranitidine. I have decided that the horse is just naturally grumpy and girthy because that has never changed, even when being treated for ulcers (and scoped clean). The only difference is that the pop rocks are a bit cheaper, they are pre-packaged and you don't have to count pills.

I still switch over to Ulcergard for shows, as the horse is quite sensitive to stress.

The shipping isn't too bad. I have made 2 orders and both have come within 2 weeks. The company's email communication is really good - if they update your order, they send an email.

I've been tempted to try them. I did a month of UlcerGard with Fancy and noticed an immediate difference in her appetite, weight gain, poop quality and general demeanor. Since stopping the UlcerGard she's gotten just a tad girthy and her poop looks different.

Been thinking about giving the pop rocks a go..... dunno though.

There is a cheap product called Ultra Guard. Its a liquid and comes in a gallon jug. Its made by Equiline Horse Products. It is AMAZING stuff and works as well as the expensive stuff. You have to get it through the vet, some vets have not heard of it though. If you contact Georgetown Equine Hospital in Va, they sell it and can ship it. Its $32 or something close.

We've got some on order and are just waiting for them to arrive. Started with UlcerGard, which worked very well. Even though it is cheaper than GastroGard, it is still very expensive so we're going to try the blue pop rocks - I'll let you know how it works out! :luck:

I haven't tried the pop rocks since I can get generic compounded Omeprazole from my vet in a giant bottle (unfortunately not legal in the US from what I understand). Can I ask roughly how much it costs daily for the pop rocks...?

Are they not full of sugar? How much do you give them?

Are you maybe thinking of the candy pop rocks...?

These are something entirely different (generic Omeprazole aka GastrGard), but dubbed Pop Rocks for the resemblence to the candy :)
