You need to import your current library into iTunes. Go to File > Library > Import Playlists That should move your current library into iTunes for use there. (BTW...Happy Birthday. )

What if you sync it? When you open itunes on the left side bar (i'm not sure which header it is under) it should say "Your Name's Ipod". Click on that and then on the bottom right hand corner it should have a button that says "Sync" I hope that works! |

DQ, I have a FIRST GENERATION i-Touch. The Apple Care people would pee themselves if I called them. They'd be all like, "Dude. Upgrade. Seriously." It'd be a bit like calling the Geiko people and asking for life insurance on your 114 year old grandma. |

Or maybe they would offer to buy the thing off me, because it is the Oldest Living, Still Functioning i-Touch in existence. You know, to put in the Apple Museum of Antiquated and Outdated Hardware. Might be worth a phone call... |

Y'all are ahead of me in techno-gadgetry land. I don't even HAVE an ipod. I need to get one since I just joined the gym but I'm skert of figuring out how to use it. Is it easy to put songs from CD's on it? I don't want to spend a bunch of $ at itunes for stuff I already have on CD.

Hehee. Reminds me when the pay-as-you-go cell phone company made me trade in my OLD, giant Nokia because they weren't going to be supporting it anymore. I'm wondering when they are going to tell my the teeny Motorola they replaced it with is now defunct as well. The iTouch was brand new on the market when I bought my iPod 80G Classic...of which I've still only used 20G worth of space. I also have the teeny shuffle for the gym. I didn't go touch because it seemed like one more thing to break (same reason why I have a car with rolly windows and manual door locks :teehee:) DG: RR is right about the ease of use. It takes a bit to get used to, but once you've got it down, it's simple. I was skeered to buy songs at first but it's simple and relatively painless unless you get out of control. :D My iPod is my favorite possession after my horse and my saddle. ![]() MAR - hope you can figure out why it's not importing your music.

Apparently...the music is not actually on my new computer...to get that to actually happen Apple will have to do it, and there is about a 50% chance of that.... |

When I was in Oz, and I've heard from my dad, who is a converted Mac man that it is the same in Can, that if you go into the Apple store with your ipod and your computer or whatever you're having issues with, they will make an appointment for you (usually same day - although in aus it paid to take the time to do it in advance online). You then get an apple geek to help you sort out the issue. They're usually super helpful and you don't even have to pay the extra money. Especially for something like loading new music, they want that...they want you to love the product and keep upgrading etc. So i'm almost positive that you'll have no issues if you see them. I was always impressed every time I went in for any issue! If they can't fix it as well, they'll tell you where to send it/ ship it off/ organize return etc. I really can't speak highly enough about them. |
