I know I don't post here much anymore but I am always a regular reader here :-)

Since there is already a discussion about 9/11 and where we were that day, I thought I would share this with you and invite you all to join in. I originally had this idea for the 1st anniversary but just didn't have enough time to implement it then so I shelved it away for the 10th anniversary. Below is a copy of the email I have been sending out regarding the event.

Please help me get the word out for my Candle memorial! My goal is to go nationwide if not worldwide with this idea!!!!

With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 drawing fast upon us, I would like to propose an idea for a tribute to all that lost their lives on that fateful day.

I suggest that on 9/11/11 at dusk that everyone should light 3 candles outside their homes (similar to what was done those first couple of nights after the attack). Each of the candles should be a different color, red, white and blue:

RED: for the FDNY firefighters and EMS workers
BLUE: for the NYPD and PAPD officers and Military
WHITE: for all the citizens that were lost that day.

That very first night I remember how moved I felt driving down the street and seeing all the lit candles in front of all my neighbor's homes. There are no words that can describe the loss and pain of that day, so let our actions speak for us!! Light your candles to show the world we will never forget September 11th, show the survivors that we still are thinking about them and to all those that lost loved ones that we still grieve with them!!

Thank you ma'am!!! Most of my internet time is while I'm at work and since summer is usually the busiest for us here in dispatch it means I don't get alot of time to post.
