today we have 2 protests going on here in MI right near my work bldg - the Medical Marijane folks are here protesting the closure of their outlets for the sale of MJ.

Tonight a Reverend Bible Burner will be here to protest.

There are probably 100 state police out there, plus a SWAT unit. There are sharp shooters on all the buildings roofs. We have had a fire alarm pulled today.

The mental atmosphere feels like 'fight' and the scent of MJ is everywhere out there. i have meetings here until almost 8 pm tonight so I have to be here - and I don't want to be here.

Ick, ick, ick.

I adore that we have the right to protest in the US. But I am a believer in the peaceful protest. Not hooliganism dressed in the trappings of protest.

Good luck, DQ. I'll be thinking about you ...

Thanks RR - last time it was this bad we had American Nazi party here. That was seriously an unhappy day.

Rain is in the forcast, and temps in the 40's with wind, so that may keep some crazies away.

Sad about the marijuana folks. I can remember some quite enjoyable "protests" on the
diag at the Ann Arbor campus when air was thick with fragrant smoke. The local legislative
representative, Perry Bullard, even turned out to join the locals. Cops were there but
just smiled indulgently at the students. But life was different in the 1970s

Fixed your post :teehee:

Actually, the dope= drug people were pretty fun, the cops were pretty cool, and the Creature Preacher drew a big collective MEH from everyone (plus the massive rain shower 'cleaned it up' pretty good too! :teehee: )

Didn't that turn into the Hash Bash that is still on April 1 of every year? I don't think it draws the crowds it used to but I think it still goes on.

Of course the cops were smiling.... they were breathing in the air. LOL :innocent:

Ann Arbor Michigan, it always has a beat to it's own drum.
