What do you do to motivate yourself?

Generally for me it is as simple as making a list and then hopping to it.

However, I am avoiding making the list. <-- Right there, Houston, we have a problem.

RR, I'm having the same problem. Makena started school yesterday, and I feel like I should be taking full advantage of being down one child from 8-2:30 and getting all kinds of stuff done.

Instead I am sitting here in PJ's enjoying a coffee while Colton sits next to me and watches his favorite cartoon. It's rainy and cold today and we are so warm and snuggly here on the couch....

Can't help you much RR, sorry! :teehee: Generally my first thing is to make a list too. Sometimes I don't put a big job on the list because I don't have time or don't want to do it. :teehee: After working all day, I have a hard time wanting to do a lot of housework or errands, because I want to also enjoy time at home with my family.

Maybe another cup of coffee would help? :innocent:

FG - your morning sounds heavenly. I wouldn't get up either. :teehee:

Dudes. I am peeing coffee.

I am *here* still not making my list.

WTF? I know how easy it is to get my mojo in gear, but I am resisting! At the end of the day, the only one I am "hurting" is myself by putting stuff off until tomorrow. I could do something I'd LIKE to do instead of something I HAVE to do if I would just get the HAVE TOs done.

Anyway, I think I'll go with the "tomorrow is another day" approach and start fresh. With a new pot of coffee.

Oh man do I hear ya! With Toons 8,000 miles away (ok 35, but it is a drive to get there) I find myself making excuses NOT to go some days.

Fortunately, she doesn't get any turnout other than her run, so the fear of impending colic motivates me to get out there and work her.

The house stuff I'm pretty good at keeping up with , but I have days that I struggle with that too. Usually I just pick something small and sgtart doing it and that bleeds into getting the other things done.

Good luck my friend!! Here's to the caffeinated zombies!! :innocent:

Better today.

For me, it's all about The List.

If I make The List, and check The List, and cross of things on The List, they get done.

I *finally* made The List this morning. So, I have been checking, and doing, and crossing off.

I must have been Santa in a previous life. :nyah:

What's on your list? I have a big one but am avoiding it too. Only because most of it is crap I hate to do.

Laundry including piles and piles of towels from our camp which will have no home and float from couch to couch. :censored:
Cleaning out closets and basement to make room for crap picked up on other rooms. :censored:
Cleaning younger dd's room because it is so out of control she will never be able to do it. :censored:
Clean out old cucumbers from my garden but it has rained for four days straight. :censored:
Pick tomatoes from very wet garden and figure out something to do with them. :censored:
Make pesto from basil that is dying from hurricane. :censored:

All while trying to supervise/teach my kids who are having a rocky re-entry into "school" (we homeschool so it isn't exactly a re-entry) but younger dd has been sitting at dining room table in tears all morning on Russian homework. That was due two weeks ago...so I have very little sympathy. It's not even hard. She just doesn't want to do it. :censored:

Maybe more coffee will help? ;) Is it too early for wine? ;)

It's past 5 o'clock here, TBF, but I'd stick to whine if I were you. ;)

My list is also monumental, but I whittled it away today. So, I'm feeling good about it.

Tomorrow is another day.

Moved. Check.
Unpacked. Mostly.
Bank account. Check.
Internet. Check.
Post Office Notified of My Existence. Check.
Christmas Holiday BOOKED. Check. <--huge freaking sword of Damocles hanging over me that I FINALLY finished this week. Whew.

All in all, it has been a highly productive week. Wednesday was a down day, though, and it sort of kills me. I don't like the feeling of not knowing where things are, and it took until yesterday to have 95% of our stuff in a place where I can lay hands on it quickly.

Now I need to start getting out and about and orienting myself.

Stephensplatz is about a 5 minute bike ride from my apartment; it is huge, and one of the major tourist attractions in Vienna. Did I mention it is a 5 minute bike ride?? I got lost on my way. But as I was biking around the most beautiful city in the world not minding at all that I had no idea where I was or how to get where I was going, I kept thinking, "NEXT week is all about exploring!!"

So...what was the end result that helped with the motivation? I'm having a SERIOUS case of this. I canceled my Zumba class AGAIN tonight...I'm tired and I could barely get dressed this AM cause my closet is SO disorganized. Goal this evening is I have to get that done and do laundry. but I really need to get the fitness going....

Lists. Then do them.

I have been a tornado all weekend.

And today. As long as I move from one thing on the list to the next, I don't stop.

Although, I am here, aren't I?

Ah, but wait! I am doing research on on-line photo storage, which is WHY I am here. Checking off my list. :teehee:

Hooray for RR and her LIST!

Vienna. Ahhhhhh it must be beautiful this time of year too. :)

Semi-productive here today too. I'm trying to decide if I should soak up some of this (last) sun, or keep working on "stuff". Hmmmmmmm
