I like TOC better than TOB.

Seriously.

Getting flamed for asking about dog kennel recommendations, which I asked there because I couldn't get TOC to post my post about it.

People seem to think they just simply *must* make their opinions known, and as offensively as possible, over there. At least here I feel that most of us, because many of us know each other in "real life" at least try to be thoughtful, and tactful, because it feels a bit more like a little family.

Just my $.02

To your question, I don't have any suggestions, but I do wish you good luck. Could you add another layer of that same wire fencing around it or something?

There are a few people who seem to hang out on The Menagerie just to be douches. *cough* wendy *cough*

I think you handled that pretty well. I am not as patient as you are, lol, which is why I have about 30 people on my ignore list. :teehee:

Not sure what to tell you about the dog, but you could try to circumvent the digging out of the yard thing (your yard is fenced, right?) by running a line of hotwire around the base of your fence. (This isn't really a good idea for the kennel, IMO.) Friend of mine did that with her two hooligans (big, energetic labs), who are out in the yard all day and it worked great. They each hit the wire once or twice and that was it. It's been down for years now but they still don't dig near the fence. The rest of the yard, however ... well ... :teehee:

We had a dog that dug out... we drove metal stakes in the ground about every 8 inches and affixed them to the fence.

Can't really help as to the sides, but hubby has hunting dogs that live in kennels. They have a concrete pad for the floor so they can't dig out. It's fairly inexpensive to pour a small slab.

Oh well, I seem to fit right in over there. I like some of the strong personalities.

On the dog thing, we have 2 digging JRTs. Believe it or not in the places they dig we have no climb fencing up along the fence-line with it folded over at a 90 degree angle that comes out about 2' or so on the ground/under the dirt. We also have our back fence-line with a second no climb fence a few feet off the main fence. On one side we dumped a bunch of concrete boulders we were given along the fence, it also aids in controlling the mud along that fence in winter.

Sometimes I think we just need a kennel!
