Lookie what I found, some to AIM for:

1) Sunday, October 30th - Run thru Hell (MI) on Halloween Eve, 8k or 5k ( most people wear costumes, lots of people but out in the country)

2) Saturday, November 5th - Meaningful Moments 5k in Lansing

3) Sunday, November 13th - Burg Run on Trails 10k or 5k in Laingsburg ( a nice run on trails at the high school, smaller race)

4) Friday, November 18th – Silver Bells Fun Run in Lansing

5) Saturday, November 19th – Grand Finale 5k ( A very nice trail run at Grand Woods park in Delta Township, smaller race)

6) Thursday, November 24th – Lansing Turkeyman Trot 5k (Very fun on Thanksgiving morning in downtown Lansing. People dress up like Indians, Pilgrims, turkeys, Santa Claus etc. Lots of people, but doesn’t feel over crowded)

7) Friday, November 25th – Howell Fantasy of Lights 5k (Race is at 6 pm, many people wear strings of lights when they run down main street in Howell, very festive)

Well that sounds like fun, doesn't it?!

My nine year old is going to run it. THREE miles. No kidding. Three lousy miles!!

You could totally run three miles GHH. It's not far at all. :teehee:

I would totally do the Halloween one and the Festival of Lights one.

Have you run yet? Didja, didja, didja?

I have to tell you, it really sucked and I kept thinking I would break down. :yes:

But then I thought about how beautiful it will be to run around the Ringstrasse at night with 10k other people and I pulled my s&^t together and kept plopping along.

Sorry, can't help with the i-Phone Mac issue; I have neither and am basically a Luddite who only drags themselves into the light when forced.

Wow, I haven't been to this message board in ages, checked it out this morning and found this thread. Just by coincidence, I downloaded the couch to 5k app a few days ago and started it. I have been an off and on runner for about 5 years, when my back allows. Generally I get to a certain point, then hurt my back and have to stop. I did run a few 5k's the first year I started running, which was really fun. Don't see that in my future, as my back will not allow me to run on pavement.
Anyway, I have done the first three days. The app I have starts with just 20 minutes of 60 seconds jog, 90 seconds walk, with a five minute warm up and cool down. I would imagine it probably starts to ramp up soon. I try to run just every other day depending on my work schedule. I have learned in previous years that if I run every day, I get dead legs and then ALL my runs are bad. I usually do a 3-5 mile walk on my off running days in between.
For me, good music is key. It's the only thing that keeps me going! I'll keep checking in here, it's great to have a mini support group. Helps a lot!

I have started the 5K program over again and I am using the app this time. I love it! It was great last night and I felt really good doing the run. Not going to run tonight, will run tomorrow and so on. I want to run a 5K some time in the fall, then do the bridge to 10K program over the winter so I can run the 10K race again next year and beat my time!

Tonight I run again, last ngiht was my 'off' night and I WANTED to run. I should have w/o the app but I rode a bit longer instead.
