I need a fast, easy baby blanket to churn out in a few hours. Know of any on line patterns that turn out well? |

Look online for "mile a minute" type patterns. Those seem like they stitch up pretty quickly. I usually get myself into very involved baby blankets that take much of the momma's pregnancy for me to churn out because I'm a glutton for punishment.... |

Indy - I've been meaning to get started on something special for months now, but just lost my enthusiasm for so much stuff after mom died. I'd litterally go home from work and stare at the wall for hours. She's in labor NOW, so I figure I can knock something out over the weekend and give it to her husband when he comes back to work next week. I think anything homemade is special, and honestly, they aren't the crafty type, so they won't know beginner from advanced patterns. I think this is the one I'm going to make - it's easy and the border adds a little something special. http://gardeners-ramblings.blogspot.com/2011/02/lilacs-in-february-baby-blanket.html |

That should be really pretty! You can always do the border in a second color to add pizazz. And I agree, anything homemade is special no matter how easy or advanced. I think things like hand made baby blankets are just so cool and most people aren't crafty these days so babies go without having something made special just for them. |

Oh, a contrasting color for the border is a great idea!
