I think I will donate most everything...after checking into rental truck/trailer prices...yikes. Moving from a 2 bedroom house into a small apartment. It will be slightly easier than when I moved from a 1 bedroom house into a camper...lol.
Any tips from seasoned movers?

If it's been one month since you've worn it, throw it out, if it's been six months since you've used it, throw it out. If you are finding things you never knew you had, throw them out!

This. As a Frequent Mover, life is not about things. It's about people and places. And food. Which you do not need to pack for Connecticut. ;)

I will also add that no matter how you pack, you will suffer from at least a small bout of Packer's Remorse. SOMETHING you want you will have left behind. SOMETHING you brought you will suffer as you try to get rid of it. Accept this, and move on. Humans can't see the future, so you will not make ever single decision as perfectly as you would have it you were born with hindsight.

Not much advice, but I sympathize! I am packing today too! I try not to touch anything that doesn't go in a box. Don't set aside things for later. Pack them. Make the decision to throw away, donate, or pack. Just don't leave it for a later decision.

I also put tools in a tote in case I need them at the new home or to take something down here. It will make it easier to reseal for a quick project that needs to be done.

Oh, maybe I do have more advice than I thought! I also use clothes as cushion for breakables. Wrap breakables in a t-shirt that you won't need for a while. I also use lots of towels to line the bottom of boxes to give cushion for fragile things.

Good luck to you!

One thing I've found handy is to put all the remotes and electronics cords into a backpack or small, easy to find box. That way you know exactly where everything is when you unpack.

I'm done. The movers come at 7am tomorrow morning and if it ain't packed, it's not coming.

"Packed." My second favorite verb in the English language. Second only to "Unpacked."

"Packing" however, sucks, sucks, sucks.
