Well BT and JTM I finally see what all the fuss was about. Mom brought me back a ginormous can of the coffee and I LOFF it. So smooth, so yummy and delightful. If the coffee is that good I can only imagine how good the donuts must be.

So funny! I far prefer Dunkin Donuts to Timmy's, but i think thats because when you get it from Timmy's its SO hit or miss, whereas if you make it at home it would be more consistent. When its good, its really good though!! Their donuts arent anything too amazing, but they've got awesome bagels and sandwiches for a fast food place since they're not pre-made. Yummmmmm :D Their donuts arent any different from Dunkin, either. I always knew you were a closet Canadian

lol... Steph, Mom was up in Michigan and she saw several Tim Hortons there. Ibex, giiiiirl!! Show soe love to a sister. Damn. I still need to get those bridle mesurments to you don't I? JTM glad that I'm not missing too much with the donuts. Mom had them every day and I believe is now suffering from withdrawels, mostly because COlorado is pretty devoid of anything like a "donut" in general. Damn healthy folk. |

So you know you can buy the coffee online, right? http://shop.timhortons.com/ Ditto on the donuts being nothing to write home about. They're perfectly fine, but they're not special or awesome. |

Jill-when they opened the Krispy Kreme in Denver years ago they opened at some ridiculous time in the morning (they were open 24/7 after that so opening at 5 am or whatever was to help with crowd control), and it was such a big deal they had the police directing traffic. They even had people driving there in charter buses, and carpooling from all over the state to get the doughnuts. People were driving up and bringing back many dozens of doughnuts for friends and for resale. It was quite a circus. I can only imagine what would happen if they opened a Tim Horton shop. |

Yeah like JTM said, the donuts are kind of "meh" but their sandwiches are awesome. Nice, fresh, healthy option when you need something quick. I prefer Dunkin Donuts' coffee and donuts. Tim's used to be a bit of an addiction for most WNYers but now that DD has moved into town I see things shifting. |

Low oxygen levels seriously affects mental status. High altitude affects people in bad, bad ways. Y'all need more Krispy Kreme shops. Free hit o' O2 with each donut "Rocky Mountain high"

Ha ha See JTM WAS right Jaci, you are a closet Canuck Timmies up here is adictive for sure. As long as it's a fairly busy one the coffee is pretty consistantly good I find. The slower ones or ones at the gas stations can be not as consistant but often are still pretty good. I also love their sandwiches, ice caps made with chocolate milk to keep the fat/cal count a bit lower and old fashioned sugar tim bits oncein awhile When the Krispy Kremes opened up here there were huge line ups as well. They are amazing but honestly there was just TOO much guilt for me. One every 6 months would have been perfect. Apparently others felt the same and their coffee was no where near as good so it went out of business within 2 years, if that. On our last trip to the States, we went to a Timmies in NY and I was SO disappointed. The Canadian ones are consistantly pretty clean, the staff wear hair nets, silly uniforms and the food is almost always the same. You know exactly what you are going to get. The NY one had staff with half their uniforms on, no hair nets, not particularly polite and the washrooms were not clean. Not at all like we are used to and sadly will not make them as popular for you guys as they are up here for us. I was really sad to see the differences but hope it's just that particular owner. One of the other big pluses for Timmies is that they are very community oriented and give back in so many ways. They sponsor all sorts of kids sports camps and teams as well as summer camps for the less fortunate children. Edited by Black Tack, Aug 7 2011, 09:20 AM.

It's nice to hear that they are also generous with the teams and such. I will continue to order online then! I LOFF the coffee. Starbucks is great, but it always has a bitter edge to me. I like it more smooth, and Timmy's seems to fit the bill for me. I also don't go buzzing off the walls after one cup. Starbucks sends me over the moon! Like I need more energy, right? Yes, I believe I am a closet Canuck! The wee squid-o wears her "True north" shirt ALL. THE. TIME!!! |
