Well, I did it! I signed up for a county drawing course--one evening a week. That runs for 8 weeks and then I think I'm going to take a painting class at the Corcoran over the winter, which is on weekends, when I'm not likely to show (Nov-Dec). That's probably the only time of year that I *could* do a weekend class. I finally heard back on the master gardener class and the evening session is only run every threee years and they *just* did it, so it won't happen again for another few years. The next day class this fall will be 9-12 two days a week. As I took this new job, I'm not sure I'll have flexibility for that as well as riding (probably one or the other). Mr. RH suggested I quit again, but that seems a little drastic Now that I'm here, I think I have to stay for a while--otherwise it's pretty bad form.

Hey good for you! I used to love my fine art classes in college. They were so zen! Quiet studio, good music, interesting company, and the chance to be as creative as I wanted. Hope you enjoy them and keep us posted. You'll have to post some of your finished pieces!! |

I wish my classes could be described as "zen" lol... They're more like Bootcamp and by the end of the semester we're all twitching in one way or another, lol. RH, enjoy your classes... I hope you post some of your assignments/projects I for one would love to see your work... I'm looking forward to graduating so I can take more art classes but without the stress of being graded.

Lucky you! I would love to sign up for an art class. I just have not had much time in the past 4 years to do any art, what with law school and the bar. And I used to love to relax by drawing and painting. Mr. SSR's friend, who is a lovely artist and photographer, keeps telling me to get back to it. Ah, well, maybe this winter when there is less to do on the farm! |
