When I was young and could not get any credit, I got an revolving credit account with American Express. I have been a member in good standing since 1987. Never a late payment and 99% of the time pay more than the minimum. The minimum payment is significantly higher than other cards with the same balance. I open my bill today and my minimum payment is $100 higher than normal. I called and asked in case it was a mistake. Nope, out of the last six months, I have paid more than the minimum 5 times, but the 6th time, I paid exactly what was due. This caused my minimum payment to adjust to the standard configuration instead of the adjusted configuration. I am livid. I have never seen any notification for this adjustment, but I don't read everything they send me except for my bill. I have an address to write to, but I want to make a huge stink. It seems like with these big companies a letter just gets lost and no response or change is ever made. I cut up the card, but that doesn't hurt them much. I know if at my work a person writes to an executive, we all jump through hoops to rectify the situation. I want to be the squeeky wheel and I am not usually that type, and that is where I need some help. My goal is for them to change it back. They said in 6 months if I pay more than the minimum it will change. Not good enough... Anyone take on something like this? I realize they have me over a barrel, but I want to try...Any ideas? |

I had a problem with a vehicle I purchased literally 1 week to the day I drove it off the lot! Took several phone calls to corporate but I didn't stop till i got the secretary to the President on the phone. Needless to say my car got a new engine right away and at no cost to me! Just get on the phone and "Don't Let Up"! |

GET over your fear of the person on the other side of the PHONE...it's just a PERSON......Get your facts straight just like you did HERE and state them to the manager....see what they say....GET their names and NUMBERS and write things down as you talk about them.....so you can repeat what they said etc...if needed... GOOD LUCK HH

What Headless said!! I so feel your pain...and I HATE to do such calls myself, but hey, ya gotta do them to get the results...and you outlined the problem very clearly here...so, just go for it!
