That is SO funny we both know dock jumping pits name Rajah/Raja. That is a NICE looking jump!!! Great pop, good form and stretch. Both Quinn and Teddi have UKC dock jumping titles. Teddi has her UJJ (United Junior Jumper) and UNJCH (United Novice Jumper Championship) Quinn has her UJJ from last year. They also have multiple UAD titles. Maxine my dearly departed had a Dock Dogs Novice title. Haven't gotten one with Splash dogs. Ann |

EV is such a fun game to watch. My friend Anna Borovich, and her dog Colby set the first world record over 7'. It has been broken since. I think Country the lurcher who set the world distance record of 28'10" (I saw that happen live, it was in Michigan) also holds the EV record of 8'4". At least I think that he still does. However I would NEVER let my dog do it, it is so dangerous. The water is not deep enough for dogs dropping down vertically. Actually my friend Anna's dog has a terrible back end now. It is not an old dog either. I think he is Belle's age which is 8. I am a physicists daughter... I don't think the impact on the dog was thought out. The pools are only 4' deep. Ann |

They were trying to beat the world record at the last Dock Dogs event I was at.. one dog got within 1' of it, it was amazing! I can see that the EV would be a little dangerous. They should definitely have that event in a deeper pool, IMO. |

Love the pictures, Ann! It looks like your crew had a blast despite the gloomy weather. Logan's breeders think he should try dock diving. His mom is super at it, and has won several local competitions in Maine. I've got a friend that teaches a dock diving class up in north Georgia so I think we'll head up there one weekend and give it a try when the weather warms up. He actually needs to work on his swimming a bit some first, he still tends to swim a bit like a wounded duck

Ok I made an incorrect statement. I said a lurcher held the world record... I forgot it got broken last year... BY A CHESSIE!!!! and a rescue at that! Smoke jumped 29'1" IF my memory is correct on that distance. I have seen some HUGE jumping chessies I also have a fond memory of a female named Mustang Sally, she jumped great but you could NOT get her out of the pool. LOL She would just swim and swim. Ann |

Is dock jumping available only to non-rescue dogs? |

Thanks. I'm assuming that includes mixed-breed. I am picturing my dog Mick being the Belly Flop World Champion. I'd have to toss food, though. |

Yup, any rescue dog would be consider a mixed breed, since they don't come with papers LOL, too bad that's not a competition, he'd probably win! |

Riley would be right up there with Mick in the Belly Flop for Food competition. I'm pretty sure the only way I could get him to jump into water is if delicious food was being thrown in front of him. Or possibly his Cow toy, but more than likely he would just go whine at the nearest human to go save Cow for him. I'm also pretty sure if I did get Riley to jump into the water, he'd capsize immediately so a life jacket would be required. |

Mick would sink. She is solid rock, and brain. If food were thrown in a dock jumping pool, she'd run and find a pool skimmer, and scoop out the goods. All while keeping her feet dry.
