What color shoes for a navy blue ball gown?

I know silver would be the safe choice, but would nude be good? Patent leather nude? Just plain?

Have no idea what to look for. Dress has a long split up the side (and my legs aren't really great, although the split is NOT on the scarred up leg, so that's good!) so shoe(s) will be visible!!

I'm having the two rows of beading on the bottom removed as I type this. But it still has a lot of beads up top.

Silver-ish tone to the beading.

Help!

Although I'm worried its too fancy for what I'm going to so I have this as a back up (see pic of black/white dress)

Shoes need to be cheap. No paycheck yet and I had to sell my boots to buy the dress!

Silver would be my choice for shoes. Then black patent, which is very usable again, for other places and clothing. Black accessories would work with the navy dress, though again, siver would be my first choice. Black shoes and accessories would also work well for the black dress if you are saving dollars.

Sorry, just can't see nude looking very good with such dark colors. Shoes do show, even with long dresses.

Both dresses are pretty fancy, hope you have fun at the occasion.

Oh, not saying the shoes won't show, was trying to explain they would totally show because of the slit in the dress. .

I was thinking black would look like I didn't bother going to look for appropriate shoes, but I haven't seen any shoes in silver that I thought weren't "prom-y".

I was thinking nude would work for making my leg look longer but wasn't sure about how that would work with the blue dress.

I was invited by the boyfriend - its a local association for his work.

The lady said:
"It is
not a bustle type of event, but most of the attendees wore some type of
floor-length gown - there was a mixture of very fancy to more plain -
all types of styles and there were a few cocktail length dresses,
although most were floor-length."

I'm scared the blue (which does have a small bustle!) is too much?

Oh, and I have craploads of black shoes - so the black dress isn't a problem. I have several pairs to go with that :)

I found these, they are silver but they are satin, not metallic.

I'm not a fan of metallics, and I think with the amount of "bling" the dress has, I'd like the shoes to be simple.

I'd say silver for the blue dress. But something simple and not super shiny. I like the first picture you posted as well as the last one.

Silver/gray tone would be great for the navy dress. I could also see going a fun colored jewel tone (ruby maybe) and picking that up in the accessories but if you go color I would go strappy.

Black and navy are THE thing right now, and I love the combo. If you're worried you will look like you didn't try, work some black into the accessories.

How about maybe a pewter, so that you'd still have the silvery tone but a darker shade so it wouldn't be such a stark contrast to the navy?
