I live walking distance to a phenomial children's hospital (I do not work in peds though). If you get referred here - ever - for either baby, you are welcome to crash here.

Oh, FG, just seeing this.       :jingles: :jingles: :jingles: :jingles: :jingles: :jingles:

Keep a couple epi pens about - one in car, always one in purse, one w/Mr. FG, just in case. I hope the docs can get it figured out soon.

Ditto!!! Still thinking of you guys, Alyssa. I just can't imagine... :o

I carry an epi pen and have never had to use it. I did manage to shoot myself through the finger with it once when showing my Mom how to use it. :psycho: I am so glad you had one. Your descriptioin sounded terrible. :(

Thanks everybody. I've started a response like 5 times today but not been able to finish. He's rested a lot and is eating and drinking and despite looking kind of ragged he's doing just fine. Turns out he can't have any testing until he's had 5 days of no steroid or antihistamine. So that takes us into the week after next.

I'm one nervous mama and feeling VERY frazzled for the first time in a long time... luckily several great friends have come to my rescue, stepping in to distract Kena and take care of a few odds and ends that needed doing today.

Anyway seems he's on the upswing again so we'll just hope things continue on that path. There are many unanswered questions, which I'm feeling a bit panicky about, but I'm trying not to think too much.

Thanks again to everyone for the support and kind words, I truly appreciate it.

Flashy-I'm so glad he's doing better.

A friend's child had asthma attacks and they were going crazy trying to find the triggers, so do what they did and try writing down everything that happened on both days when this happened. It could be with the first attack that it wasn't just the medication, but the medication and exposure to some allegen that triggered it with the combination. Write down everything, including any animals or dander he could have been exposed to (for example was it a day someone went to the barn, or a different food) and try to include every detail no matter how small. It could be a small exposure to almost anything, and the more information the docs have the better. And I mean every detail including exposure to the same person, any new fabric like wool or cashmere, new foods, any place you went either a private house or a public place, anything different in detergent, fabric softeners, new stuffed animals, new soaps or lotions, or anything you can think of. Anything might be the key to solve this.

As hard as it might be to remember, she's right. Anything you can remember about those days might provide a clue. At least it's something to work on while you're waiting for the allergy testing, and at least for me it's usually helpful to have something I can "do" in situations like these (though this is way beyond anything I've had to deal with!).

You are a great mom, and I know it seems like the universe is out to get you right now. I would feel the same way. We can handle so much happening to us, but when it's our kids it's 100 times worse. :,(

I will keep praying for you and for Baby C, that he won't have any more attacks and the trigger can be found quickly!

OMG Flashy. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I can't even imagine the stress you are under. I think we all need to perform some sort of a group prayer for you and your kids, or we need to sacrafice a goat... Huge jingles and hugs from PA. :jingles: :jingles: :jingles:

LOL Witchy the sacrificial goat comment made me laugh... yeah time to bathe in holy water, I think.

Jan good point about the journal. I was thinking about that on the way home from the hospital. When our dog had seizures many years ago I started writing down everything about them in an attempt to find triggers and track them. You are right about the combination of allergens. They told us it could be any number of things working together to set his system off.

BH1 if I'm ever in your neck of the woods I am coming to find you just to thank you as you've been so kind to me!
