Okay, so its crunch time for me. Not only has my life fallen apart but I have to turn in all of my coursework (self-paced) and take exams! :brickwall: Also, due to my depression I am having to appeal to return to normal classes next semester (or potentially next summer) and have to write an essay. So, I'm brain fried from having major girlie issues, having to watch my mom be re-hospitalized for the zillionth time, manage the ranch from afar, and watch my sweet dog in the last stage of her life. I really would rather crawl under a rock (preferably my bed though) and watch a good movie. But, that can't happen for at least 2 weeks. :psycho:

If any of you ladies wouldn't mind proof reading or editing my rambled mess...I'd appreciate it greatly. I've been typing so much I don't feel my fingers anymore.

Oh, did I mention I have to have my appeal form and essay turned in by 5 today? Awesome.

I'm not great with proofreading. Just wanted to throw in some jingles that the school thing works out smoothly and life gets a little less crazy. :jingles: :jingles: :jingles:

Thank you! I need jingles and lots of 'em! School is the only thing I have going for myself right now. I'll feel like a complete failure if I don't get to go back and be a 'normal' student again. I miss it so much.

I have 16 days to finish everything and take my exams. BTW, the program I'm in (which the dean required me to do) charges and additional $50 for every exam. I have 8 to take! How ridiculous is that? Not only did I have to pay regular tuition and not have access to the library or anything. But, now I have to pay an additional $400 to take something as awful as an exam, yuck!

MAR,

Email sent! I'm going to apologize now if it is just a rambled, jambled, illiterate mess. It most likely is! :(

Oh, since the essay is about the hardships and difficulties in my life, should I mention anything about my mom being so sick, mentally? I'm not trying to write a sob story or play the violins. But, she has been institutionalized basically for the past year. She attempted suicide after being out for 4 days and was airlifted, ICU, the whole nine yards. I *almost* found her that time. If I hadn't stopped for gas I would have. Instead, her caretaker found her, thankfully. She was then put in a facility and released again after months of care. Within a week, she did it again and was re-hospitalized. She did really well in the program and they let her have 2 weekend passes. We spent both of them together and I was so proud of her for doing so well. I thought she really did progress. But, after being out for about 6 days she was re-hospitalized, again on the 21st, her birthday. Doctors are telling me her illness has progressed so much that it is getting harder and harder to bring her back to normalcy. The medications just aren't working on her anymore most likely because of her overdoses.

Do you think mentioning that would be too much?

Turned it in thanks to Rachel for all of her help! Now, I'm off to continue churning out assignments! I'll keep everyone updated on how things turn out :)

I have a meeting with the Dean of my school and I'm so excited! Yay! Hopefully, I'm able to prove that I am ready to be a normal student again :)

So, I just got a secure email from the Dean's office. Sadly, I won't be able to return in the Spring. But, they do want me to return in the summer! So, I'm going to take a few additional courses at the local community college, work on getting fit, and preparing for my return to being a 'normal' student again! Yay!

Don't focus on being a "normal" student--that means waay too much partying. :teehee: ...focus on being a good student

I didn't have the normal experience. I went to college, commuted from home, did my classes and went about my life (riding horses, working, keeping out of trouble). Based on what I read about your previous college experience, my suggestion would be to find people who ground you--they may not be your peers, but other people you have common interests with (like horse folk, book clubs, common interest clubs) and try to find things that provide comfort outside of school so that when things at school are rough (cliques, tough professors former "friends") you have a whole different world that grounds you. It sounds like you are on that track already--keep it up. Everyone who cares about you wants to see you do well!
