I am glad she is home! Now, you and Mr. FG need to get some rest too and just relax.

Hey everybody.... little peanut is doing ok, not as well as I had hoped. I'm trying not to be too worried. She IS sleeping a lot, which I think is a good thing? But she's not drinking like we want and not peeing much at all... Marc just ran out to the grocery store to buy anything and everything we can think of to entice her to drink and eat a little.

Hopefully she perks up. We are staying in close contact with the docs though so I know she is being watched carefully. If nothing else, the rest has got to be doing her good...

:jingles: :jingles: More jingles for Spicy! Hope you find something she likes! Have you tried popsicles? Those Edy's Frozen Fruit bars are yumm-o and you can sort of pretend they're food since they contain real fruit.

DOING THE HAPPY DANCE that your little one is at home!! :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:

Do watch that drinking/peeing thing, tho...if she's not better tomorrow you may want to notify her doc. But, right now, resting is probably the BEST medicine...poor thing has been through so much!

And yeah, I agree with the others here: YOU and MR. FG need to get some rest TOO! Maybe this?... :martini:

Sending big prayers and positive vibes and jingles!!!

Maybe she can handle milk shakes? They're cold and might be easier to swallow. (And if she's lactose intolerant I don't think most commercial ones really have milk anymore-there's a reason McDonald's call them 'shakes' instead of milk shakes). And whatever you offer her should be ice cold. I think carbonation might be hard on her mouth too, so maybe non-cola ones like Sprite instead of Pepsi or Coke? ANd if you're near a Sonic the slushies are full of ice, and might be good for her too.

I'll be thinking about all of you, and hope your next post is that you're having a hard time getting her to stay quiet and rest. Take care of yourselves too.

Oh Flashy

I haven't been on-line since I last posted on this and my PC is acting kooko today so I saw the Little FG is home, but you arent too happy with what's going on, I hope everything improves.

Sounds like the FG family needs to make a trip to Disney World in a few months and then they should head a little west of DW and visit all the horses (sorry they are mostly pretty big) at the Neigh-borhood.

Isn't that funny... we said the same thing. We were planning on doing some home repairs next spring, but I think now we may just use the $ for a DW trip instead!! Kena's been asking to go for awhile now and I think she deserves it after this mess!

She's improved as the day's gone on, thank goodness. She took all her medicine with little fuss, and Marc brought home a strawberry slushie which she drank half of. She's definitely perkier tonight so I'm feeling less apprehensive.

Kids... I tell ya... no wonder Marc and I have both started to go grey!! I think you stress about them from the moment you know you're going to be a parent, and I don't think you stop worrying... ever!

BH2 took her sister and sister's wee ones (they are giants now) to Disney World eons ago. She said something about memories of that trip last longer than any box o' stuff. I've never forgotten that.

You could also go over to the east coast to see NASA (waaaaaay cool), or south to the Everglades (airboat ride! alligators!), or west to some of the USA's nicest beaches. But Disney (being that it IS magical) is complete enough!

I'm SO glad she's doing better. The rest must have been good for her, and I hope she'll sleep well tonight!

Haha, I hear you about going grey! My kids recently looked at pictures of us in Russia, when I had longer hair and actually had the time to straighten it every day! And they said "mom, you should grow your hair long again. You look so.....um.....young and pretty!" :brickwall: Hmmm....wonder what happened, right? :brickwall: :innocent: :sigh:

I am so glad she is doing better. YAY for the strawberry slushy (my personal fav too)

I have never been to Disney and always wanted to go -- never had the money when the kids were little. My parents asked me what I wanted to do for my 50th birthday in January and I said "could we please go to Disney in Florida? I need to hug a Pooh Bear." We are looking into it and if timing and all works, Flashy, I would LOVE to have you guys meet us and spend a couple of days with us. IT would be awesome to go through there with a couple of wee ones!

I just saw this topic - I'm speechless. I felt as if my heart was in my throat all the way until I learned she was at home. I know she still is in process of recovery, but my thoughts and prayers are with your family - and I totally get the concept of putting off those repairs to take a family trip to DW! When my DH recovered from the big "c", we did a lot of things we normally would have waited to do, just because...well...you know. :sigh:

Glad to hear Kena is feeling better.

I think a Disney trip is definitely in order. Disney fixes a lot of what ails 'ya. We're going in January with friends to Disney & Universal to go to the Harry Potter theme park part and I'm so excited. I want a stuffed Eeyore and a wizard wand.
