On the news today was a trailer of the Secretariat film coming out in a week. I'm not a horse racing fan, but that horse really was special (I saw him in retirement). Here's a video of the Belmont Stakes (he won by 30 lengths):

There's just something about a Thoroughbred. They have such heart!

Gosh, I remember watching that race on TV with my parents. I got chills all over again watching it. Such an amazing horse.

He was my favorite race horse.

Right after I got Elf, they were holding auditions for the movie. My trainer and I joked about taking Elf down. Elf isn't big enough, red enough and has no white on his legs, but he's got that classic TB look to him. Whatyda think? Movie magic...and some spray paint coulda made him an acceptable stand-in. :teehee:
