Hugs Trial, that's so tough, particularly trying to explain some of it to your own kids. Not easy to make sense of something like that on their level.

I was 11 when my parents split because my Dad had an affair with the lady 3 houses down. Luckily I never heard about the details HOWEVER I was very aware of all of the commotion in our own home  My parents split, the other couple stayed together... for awile at least.

Affairs rarely spring from a healthy, respectful and loving relationship though and sometimes it's just the result of a bad scene to start.

Over the years we have had enough friends who have split because of affairs and I have often witnessed the injured partner become so vindictive that they become equally to blame in my opinion. Really acting out in hurt, rage and jealousy.

Just some observations.

for me, if it's a good friend I would try hard to continue to support them. They made a BIG mistake but they are going through hell now as a result and they willneed support. As will the husband and children who I also would support as well as I could. Keep the kids busy if possible with some fun activities because their lives are in such turmoil right now.

Good Luck
