OMG! I hope you feel better soon! And that DH caters to your needs and takes care of you since it's his crinkly-pants-wearing self's fault you're maimed! |

Ugh. I hope you feel better soon. Show almost maimed my trainer once because she dare wear a crinkly jacket. I proceeded to work on him with crinkly stuff. Then trainer got on him with a bottle of Ibuprofen in the pocket of her crinkly jacket. That was fun for a bit until we got the bottle out of her pocket. I never did try to break him of that one. Fluttering ribbons are another thing that must be moved away from at a high rate of speed. These days he does pretty well with wind in the trees...although Elf almost got me last night with a random spook at a tree decorating a jump. Sigh. Stupid animals. I prescribe Ibuprofen, hot bath, some wine. |

More than once, OI. More than once. I used to joke that I'd put a "Free Horse" sign around his neck and stick him on the road. He'd be sure to be snatched up right away 'cause he's pretty. But he'd also be returned withing a week or two after they realized how special he is. I took me about 6 months to get him okay with bags of shavings. Thankfully, he's food motivated, so eating treats off of full bags and then empty bags finally did the trick. (he's WAY better now but those first few years were a struggle :teehee:) Edited by SnackPack, Sep 24 2010, 09:27 AM.

Sorry to hear you're all bruised up, E. I'll bet you knew it was coming too. Feel better soon... Snacky, the same would happen w/ Corey. DH's buds always ask if I'm afraid someone would steal my horse out of the front field at night. No so much with the scared; they'd get a faceful of his 'schedule nazi' behavior and bring him right home. Not a question in my mind... Pretty is as pretty does

Sounds like an ugly scene! Be glad you didn't have cows run over you, with split hooves there would be twice the hoof marks!! We got cattle last year, they REALLY think different from horses, and HATE any routine changes. Crinkly coat, probably make them want to fight. Heifer hates daughter's perfume and won't let herself be caught recently. I went out with some alfalfa pellets, called her a cute cow and she RAN TO ME for catching!! I was shocked but grabbed the drag rope. Daughter said BAD WORDS under her breath! Hope laying and resting over the weekend helps thing feel MUCH better. I think any crinkly clothing would "disappear" from the homestead to prevent another accident. |
