I'm not usually one to suggest this, but can you get you hand on the size of Cavallos you think you'll need or the closest size to that so you know if they are going to fit before you order them from Europe? Another option, have you looked at the Beval Puissance boots? They are past your price range, I know, but do they have a size that will fit you? These boots can be bought directly under the *real* brand name (if you can figure out what it is-- I used to know, someone around here has to know-- I am pretty sure it starts with an "S" and is a french made boot) for around $400. I think you have Boot Dysmorphic Disorder Boots really do not need to fit half way up your knee. I think the way exagerated spanish tops are trendy but a classic to the knee look is just that. No, you don't want your boot hitting several inches below your knee ala 1970, but those Ariats would be just fine. And remember-- slightly too tall = heel lifts. You can put in a couple of pairs of heel lifts if necessary too.Re putting zippers in non-zip boots-- as someone stated, they won't be able to cut into the boot heel, so the zips will start higher up than they would in boots that are made with zips to begin with. What this means for you-- the aftermarket zipper boots won't fit %100 the way you can get zip boots to fit-- they just won't be as snug in the ankle area-- will look more like pull ons in that regard. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I just don't want you expecting one thing and getting something else. Best if you could see a pair of boots with an after-market zipper to see exactly how they will look to see if you'd be happy with them or not. |

HA HA thanks ImJumpin, I know I have a problem I always had boots that were too short when I was a kid and it drove me crazy . I really don't care if the boots are pull on or zip although I'd prefer a zip boot because let's face it, I'm old and I don't want to be fighting with getting boots on and off. The fit difference doesn't really matter to me, I just want them to go on and be tall enough .I don't know where I could try the Cavallo's around here...so I can't imagine I could get the right size to try, though I'd love to. I have determined that this is basically my size, althought I have the issue of the one leg being bigger than the other. I sent them an email, probably will never hear from them, but we'll see. Oh and I've contacted Beval and their biggest calf size in a 9 (already bigger than my normal foot size) is a 39 cm = which translates to around 15.5. I need them to be an inch bigger. You run your chances for quality with ariats. I think my pair of ariats were the champions. Only reason why I got them is because my brother's dog chewed the toe part off my dehner custom boots. My mom was like lets get you a new pair of boots and I was like I have boots. She was like my treat, and I was like whats going on mom. Anywho my ariats stitching came undone, the lining ripped, and the heal part came unglued. Now granted I was not been so kind to these boots, but I only wear them for shows so its not like there is a lot of wear and tear on them plus they went back in boot trees and in their boot bag when they weren't being used. |
