Brown leather belt is classic but honestly you can still get away with whatever. I like the ribbon belts to match with my shirt color but its a belt so it kinda goes under that out of site out of mind mentality for me. |

I vote black leather to match your boots if you're going leather. Though in all honesty, belts don't show all that much once your coat is on so if you have a brown belt you want to wear go for it. |

Whatever you like. I don't worry about matching my boots - I worry more about coordinating with my show shirt I do ribbon belts, fabric belts, white leather, brown leather, brown leather, everything

Brown is proper. People still do bling. I absolutely hate it. Not only does it annoy me, but it causes a giant bulge under your coat. Ribbon belts with short tails in tasteful matching colors are fine. I find mine just dont hold my breeches up as well as my leather one though. Im not sure Ive seen anyone actually wear a black leather belt. |

gotcha BGTB...those are lovely, but I don't think I should try to attract that much attention to my lovely waist and post twins c-section tummy . I think I'll just go with standard brown. Thanks ladies!

That's all I wear - I just can't get past the black boots brown belt thing. I know - I'm a dork. I wear this one. I have the same belt in Oakbark but I wear it (as well as the black one) as a belt with business attire. Edited by Twiceshy, Jun 9 2010, 05:41 AM.

Twiceshy, maybe you will start a new trend? I just chalk it up to my belt matching my breeches and my boots not matching anything. lol And ANY belt is better than NO belt. One of my biggest pet peeves is no belt. People think you cant tell with your hunt coat on. Well you definitly can. Its not like belts are expensive. Go to Wallyworld and buy a $5 belt. Buy several. Leave them in your trailer, in your glove box, in your grooming box, in your coat bag. Just wear a *($&%*% belt! (See, told you, it drives me crazy) Edited by OpticalIllusion, Jun 9 2010, 05:51 AM.

Me too. I just can't handle mixing leather like that. I wasn't always that way, my beloved nameplate belt from my junior days was brown, but now I've got a mental block and can't mix and match. My current belt is a black Brighton belt with just enough silver to be fun but not so much that it's blinding (and the buckle is subtle so it doesn't bulge all over the place). |

No belt is a no go! It drives me nuts when people do that! I have two of these ribbon belts. She stopped making them for a while but is now back at it and will hopefully get back in to custom ones soon! http://monkeyfootdesigns.com/catalog.php?category=7 |

I can live with a lot. Dont know why I just cant handle the no belt thing. Breeches arent really the best at staying up where they are supposed to and I guess I figure something as trivial as a belt is not hard to do. Ive had one 'kid' forget their belt ONCE. Guarantee that wont happen again Maybe Im just a meanie.

I occasionally force children to share belts if someone forgets theirs. You can absolutely tell when someone isn't wearing one, and it just looks odd. And as far as black vs. brown, I had a black nameplate belt made last year. I couldn't do a brown belt with my black boots any longer. Just too weird. |
