My little oster 5A clippers have gone kaput. It is like the switch is not coming on. I have no idea what the problem is other than they don't work. They are 3 years old and have been used a little but not excessive. I have a big old shearmaster set for hogging off large amounts of hair. I use these for clean up and to blend lines. So where do I send them for repair or do I get a new set of the Andis clippers and be done. I need them in about 2 months to get pigs, ponies, and steers ready for fair. Thanks LF

Not sure. I'd check the Oster website and see what it says. But after shipping to wherever, then labor and parts, if very well could be less expensive to just buy a new pair.

That's a bummer that yours broke. I've had mine for about 5 years and even use them to trace clip at least once every winter (so much lighter than my big honking Clipmasters), and they're still going strong.

Our local coop (feed mill, farm supply store, small grocery and drug store, fast food outlet,
you know, a small farm town general store place) has a man who does repairs on all sorts
of machines including clippers. Our guy can tell you pretty quick if something is worth
repairs or just get a new one.

My oster turbo clippers had the switch replace plus a few other things and blades sharpened. My local guys charged me $85 to do it all. The clippers are like brand new. If you find someone local to do it it will be cheaper to repair them then buying a new pair.

Gill's Sharp Shop in PA is excellent and cheap. I'd call them. May be cheaper to send them there than local person.

Clippers are in the mail to gil's and we will see how it works out. It is about 15$ plus parts to rebuild the clippers. Sound fair to me. Thanks LF

Oh and they mail them back to you with an invoice--about the last people on earth who trust people to pay their bills. Unheard of usually!
