How reasonable is this for a lease?

So the Florida horses aren't moving. Tons of inquiries but no one showing up. I am now getting pressure to sell my mare in Maryland. I originally wanted to market her as a lease but I can't get any updated pictures of her from the people who are inquiring based on word of mouth. I thought $5,000 to $7,000 for a year for a made horse who is tall, sound, very good to ride and placed really well at the BLM dressage championships for her level and taking a junior around 2'9" - 3' with no prep was reasonable.
I can really use some advice on what to do in this situation. I have a friend who is doing pay per lesson on her and the barn is located well, within very short driving distance of PGEC. There are no in house lease options and her bills keep going up. What's funny is that had I not waited until the mare could be hauled from VA to MD (i.e. already paid for) she could be here already.

I think right now, you would be lucky to find someone to free lease her and simply cover her bills.

Has she shown recently? What's her record like?

Around here, unless there's a SHOW record and it's good/recent... a free lease is more like what a horse like that would be leased for. She sounds nice, I am sure someone would enjoy her-- but I only hear of people paying lease fees on horses currently out there showing.

agreed, I have been looking a little and am easily able to find free leases, so I would only pay a lease fee for a currently showing and winning horse. The lease fee is supposed to be 1/3 of their value, so she'd have to be worth $15-21K to support that lease fee, but again, there are so many free leases out there, that it may be tough to get that.

Well I am advertising her for $1500 lease until June to cover her expenses. She is going to local shows and doing very well. I would not have a problem free leasing her but she would have to stay at the barn she is at in Gambrills.
