Does anyone have a top load without an agitator? I'm intrigued by them, but if I recall correctly, the Consumer Reports reviews that I read last year said they're not very reliable. I've had a Maytag large capacity top load for 14 years now and it's still going strong. But I'm interested in either a front load or top load w/o agitator so that I can wash horse blankets at home. I'm tired of sneaking them into the laundromat each spring. |

Well, we got this one today-- http://products.geappliances.com/ApplProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=SpecPage&Sku=WHRE5550KWW I didn't particularly want a HE model but it was the only top loader large capacity they had in stock and we needed one NOW. I've done 2 loads so far and it seems to be pretty good. Will take some getting used to-- buying HE detergent, putting detergent in first, and loading clothes around the agitator with heaviest stuff on bottom. Delia, I have a bunch of horse blankets that need washing and this one has a very short agitator... don't know how soon I can desecrate it but it will probably happen! So I'll report back on that. BH1, we do have a shutoff at the wall and that's how we got it stopped-- washer was continuously filling. Carpet is still drying out and insurance adjustor hopefully will come out soon to assess the damage. Thank God hubby was in the house, it could've been a LOT worse. Our housekeeper comes every other week and she always washes our sheets-- thank Tom it didn't happen when she was here, or last weekend when hubby was out of town and I was home alone. |

I have a front load LG with steam on a pedestal and I like it. I do not have problems with it being unbalanced. I think that has happened once in the two years I have owned it. When I bought it, it was highly rated by consumers reports. |
