Anyone have a golf cart? A friend of mine bought a used one when her daughter was showing a lot. She offered to sell me the golf cart and trailer for what seems like a good price. I have a car that can pull a trailer, so that's no problem. Storing it should also not be a problem if it fits in my garage. What do you think? Is it worth owning your own golf cart, rather than renting them at horse shows? Do they require a lot of maintenance? Anything in particular I should ask the seller? TIA! |

I would be more inclined to do a scooter over a golf cart, but thats just me. Is it gas or electric? If its a fair price why not Snaffle, it beats walk back and forth from the barns at lamplight. |

It's gas. BTW, I am totally spoiled this week. My horse is in the front row of the permanent barns, right next to the jumper ring! I'm really tempted! She offered $1,500 for the cart and trailer. Seems like a pretty good price. It doesn't have a back seat, so maybe I'll add one. |

The barn that I'm at has several golf carts, and they are certainly convenient. Personally, I've never gone to a show where they are a necessity, but if a trainer needs to get to a ring in a hurry, they're definitely nice to have around! It sounds like this is a really good deal, I would go for it! |

I prefer a scooter as its just me and they are WAY easier to store and transport but I think they are good to have! I don't usually mind walking, its just the time it takes. And Tuli LOVES his golf cart. I ended up with it in a roundabout way and I miss taking my scooter but this way the lab (and corgis if they happen to be with) can hang with me - they LOVE going for rides on it! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31439827&l=79af21d15f&id=33901035 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31439845&l=b7caf02c8e&id=33901035 Edited by Kikki, May 4 2010, 08:51 PM.

Sounds like a good deal and I like that its gas no plugging it into an outlet. Maintenance wise you would treat it like any other small engine vehical. Its oil will need to get change, check spark plugs, and ect. Your hubby should be able to take care of it easily. |
