Hi.. I thought i would just check in here. I went on my Oregon Coast trip and also continued it down to LA. We saw some great coastline and Art Galleries. My artist friend came to visit me from Australia, and I was his guide. I got a good deal out of it too, I am going to be his agent for artwork here in a gallery in Carmel!

I've been painting, and am going to be doing more dogs soon. I kind of got sidetracked with some online courses I am taking and landscape/seascape paintings lately. I am also considering switching to some abstract works to kind of change things around a bit.

Zuni is in training! My little baby girl is 3 and in training with Phoenix Farm in Healdsburg, CA. She's doing great so far. She's had a couple of funny incidents, one involving a Tom Wild Turkey in her field. She panicked and tried to climb into her water trough... while the other mares in her field just stared at her like What are you doing kid? LOL She's seen lots of deer in her life, but apparently not many Tom Turkeys. :teehee:

The other incident I will just post the trainer's comment, I found it pretty funny..

So this morning I go out to feed, and I don't see Zuni. This immediately causes concern, as she's usually the first one up for breakfast, LOL. I call, I bang the buckets, the others all come, no Zuni. I get a knot in the pit of my stomach. I grab a halter and start walking the field, calling her, looking, looking, no Zuni. Now I'm getting very anxious and upset.

One small back corner of the field they're in is cut off from the rest of the field by a treelined creek. After walking the front part of the field, I head back there. I haven't seen hide nor hair of her, and I'm just feeling sick. Right as I get to the creek, she crests the hill in front of me on the other side, sees me and SCREAMS at me, and starts running back and forth. I immediately figure out that she doesn't remember where the spot to cross the creek is. I hike over to the cross point, and call to her, and she trots over, and you can just see her face go, "Oh thank god THERE it is! And she trots across it, pauses to sniff me, and goes ripping back to the gate for breakfast.

Now you just know those other mares said to each other last night, "You know what would be funny . . . if we played ditch the new kid!"
and led her over there and then snuck off while she was grazing!

Girls! What to do. My heart just started beating again, LOL.
:psycho:

Hope everyone is doing well. I will start a new TOC doggie photo page... to get some images for some paintings. I still have the lot from before too.. love me TOC doggie pics.

Kindra :)

THanks, I had minor surgery today. Feeling a little unwell. All is good though. I've lost 60 pounds in the past 8 months or so... so I am feeling great! My clothes are falling off of me!

Here's a couple of recent photos. Sorry if they are a little large... my lower body still needs some work, but I'm making great progress.

One of me and Dave, my Aussie artist buddy at Yosemite. The others me at home
