I was just thinking that we haven't heard from Miss T since just after little Logan came into her life. Anyone been in touch with her? Tarragon, we need updates on Logan, Livvy and master gardening, stat!

I'm here, just been a little scarce lately. I've been checking in from time to time, just not posting much.

Logan is adorable, just the cutest little guy with the bestest personality. He's sweet and snuggly and mr. tarragon and I are completely in love.

Unfortunately, he was a very sick puppy for the last couple of weeks, making me crazy worrying about him and emptying my bank account on vet bills, but he's doing much better now.

The Master Gardener thing has been really great. I've met some amazing people, seen some of their amazing gardens and learned a lot. And I've gotten tons of incredible plants too- Japanese Maples, Viburnum, Sasanqua, Stokesia, Phlox, Catchfly, Deutzia, Evening Primrose, Cleome, Lysimachia.

And Liv, well... she's having some issues :sigh: . I *think* maybe that it might be physical/pain issues leading to training issues and was planning on taking her up to UGA for some diagnostic work, but since I just spent way more than I could afford on vet bills for Logan (plus mr.t might be getting furloughed :argh: I hate worrying about money! ) I'm going to have to wait a while so she's getting a little vacation. My regular vet can't find anything specific, but she's just not right, you know? It's all very frustrating.

Hey Miss T - That Logan sure is a cutie!
So Sorry about Liv - hopefully a wee vacation may fix what is ailing her?
Sorry about the DH - it's never easy is it?
SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU!

T -- so good to hear from you! Gosh, Logan is just gorgeous! <3 So sorry to hear that he was so sick, but relieved that he's doing better. Our Delia had a very difficult first year -- our vet called her Calamity Jane -- so I feel for you. Jingling that Mr. T doesn't get furloughed, and that with a little time off Liv fixes right up. :jingles: :jingles:

So good to hear from you Tarragon and the pic of Logan is adorable. What a sweetie pie :cloud9: He has such an adorable expression, I think he could get away with pretty much anything he wants. I hope his health issues have been resolved, he certainly looks very healthy! Is he llooonnngggg in the back or is it just the picture? He certainly is wavey <3

What a drag about Liv though. I sure hope you can figure it oout. I hate that when you know it's just not right but not something so major that it's easily figured out. Good luck working it out. :luck: :luck: :luck:

The gardening sounds awesome. I have been looking at Japanese maples and just was told about them not liking clay soil. We have a fair amount of clay but I think I'm going to go ahead anyway, the neighbours have a huge one that seems to be just fine. Now to decide on sliver leaf or not....

Sorry guys, for not replying. We had to go out of town for a few days- mr tarragon's father was hospitalized with what they initially thought was another heart attack but wasn't, thankfully. Now they think his heart medication may have caused his heart rate and/or blood pressure to drop too low causing him to pass out, so he has to wear a heart monitor for the next few days but his heart looks to be in pretty good shape.

Little Logan had what my vet thinks was a Coccidia infection that we're fairly sure the little twerp picked up from eating deer/rabbit/raccoon poo in the back yard. Nothing ever showed up on fecals, but he had every other test known, including barium series, to rule out pretty much everything else and he responded (finally!) to treatment. He had vomitting and diarrhea off and on for almost 2 weeks, had to get IV fluids a couple of times and lost so much weight, but every chance he got he'd gobble up more random wild animal poo and get much sicker. I was ready to strangle him :argh:

BT, your Japanese maple should be okay as long as it has decent drainage. Try to build it a raised bed or berm so it doesn't have to sit in a clay 'bowl' and have wet feet- they hate that! Remember too that most do eventually get up to 20-30 feet tall and 20 feet wide and site accordingly- I see so many planted 2-3 feet from houses.

Coccidia is NO fun, especially that severe! A Lab pup that's in Gunner's puppy class just had it, and they also think it was from him eating rabbit poop. They ended up lining their fence with chicken wire to prevent the rabbits from getting in, said it worked great.

Glad he's feeling better though!

Agreed, Coccidia is nasty stuff! Tell that little dude to stay out of the poop!

Bummer about Liv.... vague NQR-ness can be so frustrating, and exhausting in every way! Hoping you have an answer soon.
